1. The Honda Ridgeline is the best used pickup truck

The Honda Ridgeline is the best used pickup truck, according to iSeeCars. It has a Quality Score of 9.0, a full half a point higher than the second place SUV, the Toyota Tacoma. The average price of a used Honda Ridgeline is about $41,000. It has a great mpg, plenty of space, and a dual-action tailgate.

To come up with the best used pickup trucks, iSeeCars looked at the data from more than 12 million vehicles. The list was chosen based on those with the “longest-lasting, hold their value the best, and have the highest average safety ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).”

2. The Toyota Tacoma is the second best used pickup truck

Another one of the best used pickup trucks is the Toyota Tacoma. That’s no surprise, given the Tacoma’s long-standing popularity. It has an overall quality score of 8.5 and the average three-year old price of a used Toyota Tacoma is $40,050.

The Toyota Tacoma can tow up to 6,800 pounds. There are two engines to choose from; a 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine and a V6 engine.

3. The Nissan Frontier is the cheapest best used truck

If you want to save some money while still getting one of the best used pickup trucks, consider a Nissan Frontier. With an average price of $33,749, the Nissan Frontier is the cheapest pickup truck on iSeeCars’ list. It also has an overall score of 8.0, making this a solid choice for a used truck.

You can get a four-cylinder or a V6 in the Frontier and it can tow up to 6,500 pounds. iSeeCars says that its features are limited but it’s “a good option for drivers who want a no-frills capable hauler.”

4. The GMC Canyon is a great used truck

Another great option for a used pickup truck is the GMC Canyon. It is number four on the list of the best used pickup trucks but it has the same overall score as the Nissan Frontier, at an 8.0. It also has an average price under $40,000, at $37,713.

The GMC Canyon can tow a respectable 7,000 pounds with its V6 engine that makes 305 hp. It also comes with updated tech including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

5. The Chevy Colorado is very similar to the GMC Canyon

The Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon share a platform so it’s no surprise that if the GMC Canyon made the list of the best used pickup trucks, so did the Chevrolet Colorado. It also has an overall score of 8.0 and one of the cheapest average prices of any truck on this list at $35,591.

The Chevy Colorado comes standard with a four-cylinder engine and if you choose a 2018 or newer model you’ll get a 7-inch touchscreen and Active Tow.

It isn’t easy to buy a used pickup truck or any vehicle. You never quite know what you’re going to get, which can make car shopping pretty stressful. Yet if you use this list of the Best Used Pickup Trucks, you’ll at least be starting from a good place. After all, this focus on reliability, safety, and value gives you an idea of just how likely you’ll be happy with your used pickup truck.
