Nearly 157,000 2021 Ford F-150 models are being recalled in order to repair an issue with the windshield wiper motor. According to TorqueNews, the wiper motor may fail for multiple reasons, such as poor adhesives and the wrong torque.

What happens if the F-150 wipers fail? They don’t move. That means when you try to wipe away water, mud, or even bug guts, nothing will happen. As a result, your visibility could become compromised on the road or in heavy traffic.

Ford will notify owners of affected F-150 trucks via mail. Technicians will inspect the windshield wipers and replace the motors as necessary for free. You can contact Ford customer service at 866-436-7332.

The Ford recall identification number for this issue is 22S12. You can also visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHSTA) site here to enter your 17-digit vehicle identification number (VIN) and see if your truck is at risk.

We will update this article as more information becomes available.
