What better way to develop an electric pickup truck than to ask those who will buy and drive it? Ram is using a novel idea to allow future consumers insights into the development and production of the first Ram 1500 EV, arriving in 2024. Ram is relying heavily on alliteration to help consumers with this new movement in the truck world, starting with the insider program called “Ram Revolution.”

By creating a program for consumers, Ram will be on the mind of those who take advantage of this new program. The initiative isn’t simply a marketing ploy. The RamRevolution.com website used real-world input gathered from consumers to develop the new Ram 1500 EV. Maybe it’s a nod to the old Chevy commercials that tried to convince us they weren’t using actors, but this time, the company really isn’t using actors for information.

We can learn more about this electric truck

According to Car and Driver, Ram will not only use the website to collect data, but they are also launching a series to help new owners. As many truck and work van owners transition into a world of electric vehicles, they will need to know what to expect. This is where the new series called Ram Real Talk Tour (see, alliteration) comes into play. This series will serve as an educational product while the website acts as a data source for updates, exclusive content, images, and feedback.

Could Ram Revolution become the name for the new EV truck?

Thus far, all we know is the website is using this name, but it’s not beyond the possibility that Ram might use this name for the electric version of their half-ton truck. The goal behind the Ram Revolution movement is to “push past what competitors have announced and what customers expect to deliver a fuller portfolio of technology with more range, power, productivity, and convenience.” Such a bold statement sounds like music to the ears of truck lovers everywhere.

What do we know about the Ram 1500 EV?

Until an official name change occurs, we’ll call this truck the Ram 1500 EV. So far, we don’t know much about this new truck. The statement made by Ram tells us they intend to have a truck that’s better than the competition. With that in mind, we should expect a truck that can tow more than 10,000 pounds, the quoted tow rating of the Ford F-150 Lightning. We know that the driving range is expected to reach nearly 500 miles, 200 miles more than the Ford.

Unlike the Chevrolet Silverado EV, which will start with the RST model priced above $100,000, the Ram will be more affordable. Expected pricing for the Ram 1500 EV could be in the $45,00 range, which is a little more than the Ford F-150 Lightning.

Will Ram utilize the feedback from consumers?

The arrival of the electrified Ram truck is scheduled for the 2025 model year. This is three years after the Ford Lighting and one year after the Chevy Silverado EV. That gives consumers time to offer feedback and insights to Ram that could make the Ram EV the electric truck we want in the market.
