Ram is making recognizing first responders a tradition. After launching a line of special edition trucks that recognized U.S. military branches and firefighters earlier this year, it’s now putting out a line of Built to Serve, or BTS, trucks that recognize EMS workers. The new BTS truck model is designed to recognize the first responders in the medical profession.

The new trucks will be called the Ram 1500 Built to Serve EMS model and production will begin soon in Michigan, Ram says.

What’s different about the BTS truck?

The new BTS EMS edition trucks will come in two colors: hydro blue and bright white. Inside, they will get black interiors with blue accent stitching. No, they don’t come with emergency lights and radios. But, they do have special “Built to Serve” badging on the bed and a couple of plaques on the interior. Each also gets the 4×4 Off Road Group.

The trucks will also get an all-black Rebel-like grille, black bumpers, different lighting, and 20-inch wheels with unique gray polish. Inside, the panels also get Velcro panels for first responders to attach their own patches or name tags to personalize a truck.

What’s included on the Ram 4×4 Off Road group?

Ram trucks are known for their tough off-road performance, and the 4×4 Off Road Group is key to that performance. The package includes a host of off-road goodies like a two-speed transfer case, a locking rear axle, and off-road calibrated shocks. To keep your BTS truck running off-road, the front suspension, steering gear, gas tank and transfer case are all covered by skid plates. And, just in case, it adds tow hooks.

The Built to Serve truck can get a V6 or V8

Ram offers three engine choices in all of its 1500 trucks, and the Built to Serve trucks are the same. In the BTS truck you can order the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 or the Hemi V8. The Hemi comes in two flavors, a regular 5.7-liter version that makes 410 horsepower, and an eTorque version that adds a 48-volt electric booster. A diesel engine is available in non-BTS badged trucks.

The EMS version follows a firefighter version of the truck

Ram initially launched Built to Serve trucks that recognized each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Then, the brand launched a special firefighter version of its trucks. Of course, they are red.

This firefighter-inspired Ram 1500 Built to Serve edition is offered in Redline and Diamond Black exterior colors, with a black interior with orange accent stitching. These Ram 1500 Built to Serve trucks also feature other unique interior and exterior features that set them apart, including a United States flag and a Built to Serve decal on each of the rear quarter panels.
