Oh no, the Ram electric truck is facing a massive delay. However, the Ram 1500 REV is already pretty darn late to the electric truck party. Apparently, Stellantis needs more time to handle the workload with getting this EV in production.

The 2025 Ram 1500 REV is officially delayed

Seeing electric trucks get hit with delays isn’t exactly new. For example, people had to wait for about four years for the Tesla Cybertruck to arrive.

So, this 2025 Ram 1500 REV delay shouldn’t be shocking, but it is a bit disappointing. It was supposed to come out by the end of 2024, but now it’s slated to arrive by the middle of 2025. Stellantis wants to be prudent with its significant workload.

I’ve see the concept truck in person and I’ve listened to the speeches about how the truck is late on purpose. This way it can avoid making the same mistakes as other electric trucks.

However, now it’s coming out too far behind the Ford F-150 Lightning, Cybertruck, and Chevy Silverado 1500 EV as interest in electric trucks declines.

But on the other hand, it could be significantly better than the competition. For example, it will ride on the new STLA Frame platform that delivers up to 500 miles of range.

The Chevy Silverado EV has about 440 miles of range and the F-150 Lightning hovers around 320 miles of range. Also, the Cybertruck promised 500 miles of range, but only delivers about 325 miles.

The Ramcharger or the range-extended model is salted to provide up to 690 miles of range. This will be excellent, if it actually happens.

Plus, it should tow up to 14,000 lbs and carry a payload of about 2,700 lbs. The F-150 Lightning can tow up to 10,000 lbs and the Silverado EV can tow up to 12,500 lbs.

The 2025 Ram REV is expected to start at $58,000 and go up to $85,000. The Lightning starts at $54,995, and the Silverado EV begins at $94,500, so at least the Ram EV truck is competitively priced.
