PSA the 2021 Honda Passport is Overpriced

Also, the Honda Passport only has two rows of seats but is more expensive than the Honda Pilot, which has three rows! The Honda Pilot has a reasonable starting price of about $32,250. According to CarBuzz, the Honda Passport has a higher price because of its off-roading equipment. It can take you further on adventures than the Pilot can.

Is the 2021 Honda Passport worth its price?

When evaluating the Honda Passport’s performance and features, there are some pros and cons to consider. For example, the Honda Passport is lousy on gas. But on a positive note, the 2021 Honda Passport comes with a 3.5-liter V6 engine that provides 280 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque. It can go 0 to 60 mph in about 6 seconds, which is fast and sporty. Although, CarandDriver mentioned that it has a rough ride

The Chevy Equinox comes with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 170 hp and 203 lb-ft ft of torque. But you can pay to upgrade to a more powerful 2.0-liter turbo with 252 hp. The Equinox can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in about 7 seconds, so it’s not far behind the Passport at all.

Also, the Honda Passport has a pretty good towing capacity of between 3,500 to 5,000 lb. But the similarly priced Jeep Grand Cherokee can tow between 3,500 to 7,200 lb. Plus, the Jeep’s true 4×4 capabilities may be helpful.

The Honda Passport only has all-wheel drive, which is perfect for handling snow and some beginner trails. It has an 8.1-inch ground clearance and driving modes for sand, snow, and mud. However, CarBuzz admits that it can’t challenge the Jeep Wrangler or Toyota 4Runner.

2021 Honda Passport features

If you need space, but don’t want a larger vehicle with three-rows, then the 2021 Honda Passport has you covered. It has 50.5 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats and up to 100.7 cubic feet total. The Jeep Grand Cherokee only has up to 68.3 cubic feet of cargo space.

The interior has a pretty good layout, but the 8-inch infotainment center’s touchscreen controls can be fussy. CarandDriver wishes it had more physical knobs. They also praised the Passport for having spacious, comfortable seats.

The Honda Passport comes with a few standard safety features such as lane-keeping assistance and automatic emergency braking. Still, you have to pay more for rear-cross traffic alert and other features. You could save with the Toyota RAV4, Chevy Equinox, and more unless you need the extra cargo space.
