You can help North Carolina police officers by finding the person who hit a train with their truck and drove away. The driver was racing a train across the railroad trucks when they clipped it, causing damage. You may recognize the vehicle due to it looking like it was hit by a train.

North Carolina police are searching for truck that hit a train

The Greensboro Police Department in North Carolina needs your help finding a reckless driver. Someone in a pickup truck tried to race an Amtrak train across the tracks and almost beat it.

However, the driver clipped the train, causing minor damage, and kept on going. If I’m correct (which I’m often not), the driver could be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

The incident occurred around 11:45 AM on Wednesday morning at the crossing near Burlington Road and Franklin Boulevard. According to My Fox 8, the train has been able to resume normal operation.

Luckily, there were no injuries related to the accident. But here’s the kicker. Police officers didn’t release a description of the truck. There’s no paint color, make, or model to help us identify it.

However, it might look like it was hit by a train. So, what does that mean exactly? Is it slightly crushed? Are the windows busted? Does it have an imprint of the train on the side?

I wonder how fast the train was going when it hit the vehicle. That probably makes a difference in the amount of damage that occurred.

If you know anything related to the incident, please call Greensboro/Guilford Crime Stoppers at 336-373-1000.
