Sometimes police officers see things that they can’t ignore. Deputies from Oklahoma County observed a Jeep driver with counterfeit Ford truck tags and had to investigate further. Unfortunately, for the driver, they learned that he was making multiple violations.
Oklahoma police can’t ignore Jeep with fake Ford truck tags
You can give credit to criminals for trying to break the law in entertaining and creative ways. However, one driver in Oklahoma didn’t try hard enough.
Police officers with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office were out on a routine patrol when a 2019 Jeep Cherokee caught their eyes. The SUV had a paper tag on the back that just didn’t seem right from far away.
Upon closer inspection, they discovered that it was a poorly counterfeited paper tag from a Ford truck. To try and make things look legit, the man wrote a purchase date of 03-03-25 in larger numbers.
However, the date of sale for the truck was actually back on 05-21-2009. He wrote ‘2020 Jeep Cherokee” with a marker above the area where it lists a 2009 Ford F-150 as the vehicle that was sold.
According to OKC Fox, police officers also discovered that the driver was operating with a suspended license and didn’t have any insurance.
The name of the purchaser on the paper tag is “D. Dordens”, but it’s unclear if that’s a fake name. As there is an ongoing investigation into the incident, police haven’t released the driver’s name.
But they did issue him a hefty ticket and the Cherokee was impounded. Police will impound your vehicle if you’re unable to legally drive it.
