One Jeep Gladiator owner in California can celebrate as police officers managed to recover their stolen truck. However, the truck may have been put through traumatic events as investigators also found illegal guns and drugs.

California police rover stolen Jeep Gladiator with guns and drugs

California police officers got a search warrant at a home in Hesperia and planned to make a huge bust. They went to the home in the 18600 block of Lilac Street around 11 am to carry out an ongoing investigation.

Before going inside the house, police officers found a Jeep Gladiator that had been reported stolen. Now the owner finally has a bit of closure. But it’s unclear if the truck was damaged or taken care of.

According to VS Daily Press, the vehicle was discovered alone with items indicative of drug sales. So, the innocent Jeep Gladiator was forced to drive around seedy streets.

A search of the residence resulted in the recovery of two stolen pistols, five assault rifles, large-capacity ammunition magazines, armor-piercing rounds, and narcotics.

The homeowner was identified as 33-year-old Luis Armando Padilla. He was arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs for sale, possession of drugs while armed, altering a firearm, carrying a loaded and stolen firearm, and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Some reports say that 86% of stolen cars are recovered but others claim only 46% are. Roughly 34% of vehicles have a same-day recovery rate. However, I see tons of stories about stolen vehicles getting wrecked during pursuits.

It’s unclear how long the Jeep Gladiator was missing. Hopefully, it will quickly be returned to the owner, but I feel like it might be held as evidence.
