The Fast and Furious movies have been huge box office hits. One of the most iconic cars of the series is heading to auction this week. The blue Nissan Skyline R34 GT-R driven by Paul Walker in the fourth movie will be under the hammer at Bonhams. The auction will take place between April 28th and May 5th in Brussels.

Was this Nissan Skyline GR-R R34 Paul Walker’s car?

Although Walker owned and drove several Skylines, this movie car didn’t belong to him. The upgrades he requested and received make it special and significant to him.

The Fast & Furious movie used several different Bayside Blue Skyline models while filming the fourth installment of this movie franchise. The only genuine model that received extensive modifications ordered by Paul Walker is the one heading to auction.

What upgrades did Walker request?

Kaizo Industries modified the blue Skyline Walker drive in this Fast and Furious movie to include:

  • Turbonetics front-mount intercooler
  • NISMO NE-1 exhaust
  • NISMO lower springs
  • A Titanium strut brake
  • 19-inch Volk Racing RE30 wheels
  • Rotora brake conversion

Like many of the highly tuned cars in the movies, this Skyline was void of any decals. The dashboard featured a screen that showed the race route to add more drama and tech to the big screen.

How much power did this Skyline offer?

The Paul Walker upgraded car was said to offer 550 horsepower courtesy of the intercooler and exhaust upgrades. This figure was never confirmed but should be pretty close to accurate. Of course, this Nissan is only listed at 276 horsepower, which we know to be grossly underrated because of the gentlemen’s agreement among Japanese automakers.

What happened to this Nissan Skyline R34 after filming?

Motor1 tells us that Kaizo Industries imported several examples of the R34 Skyline to the United States using a loophole. They imported them as kit cars. This meant they arrived without engines. Upon arrival, Kaizo added engines to complete these cars.

Unfortunately, the U.S. government impounded this blue Skyline. A legal battle ensued, but eventually, the car was released and exported to Germany. It’s on display at Munich Motorworld.

How much should this car fetch at auction?

Paul Walker never owned the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 heading to auction this week. Still, it was in the Fast and Furious movies, which might bring a much higher price than one actually owned by the actor.

Not long ago, one of Paul Walker’s Nissan Skyline R34 models, a V-Spec II, sold for $577,500 at Mecum Auctions. Although the now-deceased actor never owned the blue Skyline going to auction, he drove it in the movies, and it is part of movie history.
