Pass On The 2019 Ram 1500 For The Upgraded 2020 Model

The Ram 1500 got a fresh redesign in 2019, making the 2018 model look pretty outdated in comparison. However, even though the 2020 Ram 1500 doesn’t have a fresh look, it has plenty of upgrades to make it worth buying brand new over the 2019 model.

The 2020 Ram 1500 Has Serious Upgrades

The 2019 Ram 1500 still has a starting price of around $33k even though it lacks the 2020 model’s incredible upgrades. Plus, the 2020 Ram 1500 has a starting price of about $31k, making it cheaper despite all of the extra tech and power included.

The basic tradesmen two-door cab can be found for around $18k, but you won’t fit your whole family in a three-seater.

2020 Ram 1500 Performance Upgrades

The 2019 Ram 1500 only has two engine options available. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6 that provides 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. You can also upgrade to the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine that offers 395 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. With the HEMI, the 2019 Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 lb.

In 2020 the Ram 1500 gained the 3.0 V6 EcoDiesel engine that pumps out 260 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque. This engine has a lighter block, improved cylinder head breathing, and enhancements were made to the turbocharger. However, it has the same 12,750 lb towing capacity.
