Orlando International Airport passenger returns to see the wheels stolen off of a Toyota Camry
There are a few things you want to see upon landing at an airport. Your family greeting your arrival might top the list. Perhaps you’d just be happy with an on-time connecting flight. However, what you almost certainly don’t want after hours of travel is a Toyota Camry sitting on blocks where wheels and tires should be. Unfortunately, one traveler at Orlando International Airport cataloged a Camry sitting on blocks in all four corners.
Imagine returning to Orlando International Airport to find you’re stranded by missing wheels and tires on your Toyota Camry
In a popular social media video on Instagram, user “jorgeheathen” walked around a blue eighth-generation Toyota Camry with their camera. However, rather than getting the Toyota sedan’s best side for Instagram, the video captured the Camry sitting on small blocks where each of its wheels and tires should be. Worse yet, the daring caper took place in one of the Orlando International Airport (MCO) parking garages.
Fortunately for the cameraperson, the narration made it sound as if it’s not their Camry. The Instagram user musically announced their findings. “PSA. This is why you don’t park your car at Orlando International Airport. This is what you will come out to, y’all.”
Still, someone is in for a nasty surprise. Assuming the Camry hasn’t been abandoned, that is. Interestingly, many commenters are suggesting this was an isolated incident. After all, the blue Toyota Camry seemed to be the only vehicle in the vicinity residing on blocks instead of wheels and tires.
One self-proclaimed Orlando native said, “How is this real? I have lived here my whole life and never heard of this happening.” Another suggested that the Camry on blocks was a targeted move. “I fly all the time and leave my car. These garages are safe. This was probably personal.” Humorously, one other commenter said someone likely repossessed the wheels.
Of course, wheel theft is a common practice for some criminals. A single OEM wheel for an eighth-generation Toyota Camry can be worth $200 or more, depending on the spec. However, stealing a set of wheels in an Orlando International Airport parking garage makes brazen seem like an understatement.
