Oprah Winfrey Gave Away Pontiacs But You Won’t Find a G6 in Her Car Collection

Oprah Winfrey gave away a lot of Pontiac G6s to her audience over a decade a go. A look into her car collection reveals that she doesn't have any Pontiacs, but she does have a couple of lavish SUVs, an electric car, and a super rare collector car.

“You get a car! You get a car!” Everyone knows that famous tagline from 2004 when Oprah Winfrey kicked off the 19th season of her talk show by giving away a bunch of Pontiac G6’s to everyone in the audience. It was one of the greatest stunts – and gifts – ever, but you won’t find one of those “free” Pontiac G6’s in Orpah’s driveway. Instead, you’ll find an eclectic, albeit luxurious repertoire of cars in her garage.

Oprah Winfrey classes it up with a Cadillac Escalade and a Lincoln Navigator

It’s not too surprising that the “Queen of All Media” owns both a Cadillac Escalade and a Lincoln Navigator as classy as she is. However, you might remember that the Escalade was notoriously involved in a pedestrian accident back in 2014. Oprah’s driver allegedly ran over a South Florida woman’s toe while she was walking with her husband. Her husband began banging on the hood of the car, which is when Oprah stepped out of it.

According to Hot Cars, all was forgiven and the woman was able to get a nice photo op out of the situation. However, it goes to show that Oprah enjoys the lavishness that the American SUV has to offer. But the Escalade isn’t the only large luxury SUV that she likes to ride around in as a Lincoln Navigator is part of her stable as well.

Of course, there’s a Tesla Model S in the mix

It’s no secret that Oprah has been actively involved in addressing environmental issues, so it’s not too much of a surprise that she also has a Tesla Model S in her fleet. She purchased the Model S back in 2015 and even posted on Instagram about how much she loves it. There haven’t been any updates as to whether or not she upgraded to a larger Tesla model, however, with the other two SUVs to be driven around, she likely doesn’t need to.

A Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe adds a dash of sportiness

Despite having a soft spot for environmentally friendly cars like the Tesla Model S, Oprah also has an affinity for German luxury. For a touch of sportiness, the talk show also owns a Mercedes-Benz E-Class coupe, which is able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. It’s not the quickest car in Oprah’s collection, but it sure is elegant.

Oprah’s 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing was fit for the “Queen”

If you’re looking for the quickest and classiest car of the bunch, then you’ll have to turn your attention to the 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Gullwing that Oprah once owned. While it might look like any other classic Mercedes, what sets this particular 300 SL apart is the coupe version that she owned was only produced from 1954 to 1957 and the particular model that graced her garage was reportedly owned by the du Pont family.

However, Oprah ended up auctioning off the car in 2014 for a whopping $605,000 which, according to Hot Cars, is lower than the car’s actual value. But, of course, she probably wasn’t worried too much about that.

Oprah might own more cars than we know

After scouring multiple sources, these are the cars that Oprah has owned and currently owns, but there could be more. The TV star likes to keep her life and personal luxury purchases private, although it is widely known that she has a private jet as well. Either way, it’s safe to say that she probably doesn’t own a Pontiac G6. Although, that car might actually be worth something in today’s used market.
