We’re excited to welcome the new Genesis Electrified GV70 to the electric SUV segment with its athletic performance and luxury comfort. However, we’re also critics; nothing will ever be considered perfect! That being said, the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 is off to a great start with only three minor drawbacks to consider.

Is the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 worth buying?

Yes, the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 is an excellent luxury SUV to consider. It’s a true rival against the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model X, and Audi e-tron because it’s sustainable, comfortable, athletic, and full of value.

It starts with an MSRP of $65,850 and builds upon the gas-powered GV70 with innovative power, tech, and quality. The GV-70 is the top-ranking luxury SUV, and the GV70 EV could easily follow in its tracks. But three features things could impact your decision.

1. The Genesis Eletrifed GV70 isn’t available in each state

Currently, the 2023 Genesis Eletrfied GV70 is only available in 22 states. You can get the Electric GV70 in Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania.

This isn’t an issue with the vehicle, but it does make it more difficult to acquire. Genesis is working on growing their electric GV70 network at a rapid rate. However, one of our passengers shared that it’d be worth crossing state lines for.

Also, the GV70 EV is proudly built in Montgomery, Alabama. It’s the first Genesis vehicle that’s assembled in the United States, and it’s only the beginning.

2. The lane-keeping assist system is a little bouncy

The 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 has advanced tech that’s intuitive and convenient. However, the lane-keeping assist feature doesn’t always keep the SUV in the center of the lane. The SUV bounces back and forth from side to side.

But the rest of the tech is phenomenal. The blind-spot warning and parking sensors are effective without being too sensitive. The alerts aren’t too loud, and the head-up display recognizes road signs before you can spot them with the naked eye.

The Active Noise Control-Road tech keeps the cabin peacefully quiet by measuring road noise and generating sound waves at opposite frequencies. The 12.3-inch 3D digital gauge cluster tracks eye movement to improve driver visibility.

You can use the fingerprint scanner to unlock your vehicle and load your profile. Also, the smart posture assists feature kicks in about every hour or so to keep you energized and comfortable.

3. The Eletriced GV70 has a dark sunroof

This is a little subjective, but the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 has a dark panoramic sunroof. The tint is so heavy that it’s hard to see the sky on a sunny day. But you can see out of it on cloudy days.

Also, it does a great job of keeping bright rays out of the cabin, so there aren’t any reflections on the windshield. Plus, the rest of the interior makes up for the difference with custom two-ton ambient lighting, heated/ventilated seats, and tri-zone climate control.

Shades of Glacier White and Obsidian Black leather upholstery attract the eye. But the exclusive two-tone Glacier White interior with quilted Nappa leather seats and copper piping is cream of the crop.

The microfiber suede headliner, leatherette-covered surfaces, accent stitching, air filter, and lowered gear tunnel create an upscale environment that’s relaxed and peaceful. It’s elegant, simple, and attractive.

Overall, finding any real problems with the 2023 Genesis Electified GV70 is difficult. Like its gas-powered counterpart, it could become the class-leading option.
