Choose your fighter. Kia and Nissan are both racing to build a new electric truck for America. Which automaker will build their truck first and which one will appeal to American drivers? Hopefully, both of the electric trucks will be affordable.

Kia and Nissan are both building an electric truck for America

Both Kia and Nissan have been toying with the idea of building an electric truck for America. Now the race is on to see which automaker will produce the better option.

Nissan has revealed a few different electric concepts. According to Road and Track, the brand’s new EV platform will support five new vehicles made in America. The first of which might be a tiny electric pickup.

The new platform is expected to be produced in Caton, Mississippi. We’ve been seeing teases for the Nissan truck EV since 2021, but the project hasn’t been officially green lit. But it needs something to replace the large Nissan Titan that was recently discontinued.

Kia has been planning to build an electric pickup for quite some time. It said the EV would come after the release of the gas-powered Kia Tasman. The Tasman has been a hit outside of the United States, so it’s time for Kia to get moving on the EV.

It sounds like Kia is winning the race so far as it confirmed that it’s already developing the EV option. Rumors suggest that it will be more capable for off-roading than the Hyundai Santa Cruz.

Kia shared that it will have the best-in-class interior and cargo space. Plus, it will have a robust towing system. Stay tuned for updates.
