Someone needs to give this truck a break! The Ford F-150 just lost its status as the most popular vehicle to the Toyota RAV4. Now the future generation is facing a significant delay. The move may have been made to save money.

The next-generation Ford F-150 is delayed

The release of the 15th-generation Ford F-150 has been pushed back by an entire year. The new truck was supposed to arrive in 2027, but now it might not arrive until 2028 or later.

This could come as an upset to drivers who enjoy upgrading to the news trucks once they drop. Also, the F-150 just received a major refresh so now it could seem outdated compared to rivals in the next few years.

The delay doesn’t involve the next-generation F-150 Lightning despite its declining sales. It’s still on track for the new model to roll out in 2027.

This decision may have been made in relation to Ford’s commitment to cutting costs and improving quality. In 2024, the automaker had 67 recalls that impacted 4,777,161 cars.

Plus, there are a lot of changing policies right now. Ford is taking a moment to adjust as trade regulations and crucial materials are subject to shake-ups. Ford CEO, Jim Farley shared that Trump’s recent moves are causing costs and chaos.

According to The Street, Ford is currently cutting costs. It cut stock bonuses for middle management. About 1,650 out of 3,300 won’t receive this key incentive.

A spokesperson shared that Ford is focused on driving a high-performance culture that recognizes and rewards employees for their business contributions.
