Is the New Ford Ranger Tremor Coming in 2024 or Not?
You’re looking at leaked images of the North American Ford Ranger Tremor. At some point, Ford turns every model into a Tremor and Raptor package of some sort. So this is news, but not unexpected. All that’s left to do is determine when Ford plans to execute the arrival of the Ranger Tremor in the U.S., and that’s what we’ll attempt to establish now.
If this isn’t the 2024 Ranger Tremor, what is it?
Recently a Ford North America Body Builder Advisory Service site listed the Ranger Tremor for 2024 release. But according to Motor1, a spokesperson has denied it’s coming in 2024. Ford says it was an error, and not to expect it next year. What’s puzzling is that Ford already sells a Ranger Tremor in Europe, so it is no secret it will arrive on these shores at some point.
The Euro Tremor has a beefed-up suspension and added chassis support. There are the requisite large off-road tires with added fender flares for body protection. Finishing things off are tow hooks, wiring to make adding a winch easier, and added lighting. From the images, you can see it has an extra inch or two of lift.
What’s different between the Ranger Raptor and Tremor?
We also like the more aggressive blacked-out fascia and the lighting change with its larger headlights. Call us traditional, but it just looks more off-road-like, if there is such a thing. There are also some tweaks to the Ranger’s standard front skid plate to tie it into the grille better. It, too, adds to the more aggressive look of the Tremor package.
While the Euro Tremor packs a 2.0-liter diesel for power, diesels don’t sell well here as they do there. So expect the 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 with 315 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque to land under the hood once it arrives here. That’s still less horsepower than the Ranger Raptor’s 405 hp, but then, the Tremor is a different off-road beast having more to do with off-road agility than top-end performance.
So it’s not a 2024, then when can we expect the Ranger Tremor?
One thing many manufacturers do is to let the first year or two of a new model sell on its own merits. Then, new packages, trims, and added power come along to spice up interest. That hasn’t been the case with the Bronco, but that may be what’s going on by choosing not to add the Tremor package in 2024.
So we should look no sooner than 2025 for the Ranger Tremor to begin selling here. If it’s the truck you’ve been waiting for, you’ll need to be patient just a little longer. Otherwise, there’s always the Ranger Raptor to quell your truck needs.
