Both Genesis and Mitsubishi offer a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and a 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty. Also, both automakers have a free roadside assistance program, with coverage for five years and unlimited miles.

EV startup Rivian is making waves with the award-winning R1T electric pickup truck, as well as the R1S electric SUV. Rivian also offers the best EV car warranty in 2022. Both the Rivian R1T and R1S have the backing of a 5-year/60,000-mile basic warranty and an 8-year/175,000-mile powertrain warranty.

In comparison, Tesla offers a 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty and an 8-year/100,000-, 120,000-, and 150,000-mile powertrain warranty. The powertrain warranties are often longer for electric cars, for EV powertrains usually last longer and have fewer problems than gas-powered ones.

With good warranty coverage, these automakers provide peace of mind for new car buyers. For even greater reassurance, many automakers also offer extended warranty coverage that goes beyond the initial coverage period. However, you’ll have to pay extra for an extended warranty.
