It’s time for the tiny Toyota C-HR to get a makeover to better compete against rivals like the Honda HR-V. Rumors suggest that the 2023 Toyota C-HR could be revamped for this model year. Plus, leaked images may show its new style.

The 2023 Toyota C-HR could be brand new

We hope that the 2023 Toyota C-HR debuts with a brand-new style. Otherwise, we might have to wait until 2024 for its redesign. According to Drive, the new Toyota C-HR design may have been leaked.

Images in Austrailia feature patent images of a new mysterious option. It could be the new C-HR or the new Toyota BZ2X electric vehicle. The BZ2X could be based on a vehicle we saw back in 2021 known as the BZ Small SU EV concept.

But the vehicle in the patent images doesn’t seem to be electric. It doesn’t show charging ports and has a traditional grille. This indicates that the radiator will need to be cooled. However, the images lack exhaust tips, which adds to the mystery.

It could be a new type of hybrid vehicle, but the BZ title is probably reserved for fully electric options. Plus, the images display features that remind us of the current C-HR, including a two-door cabin.

The images look like the C-HR has a more modern and confident design with C-shaped headlights, a larger grille, and sharper taillights. It features a two-tone color scheme like the current C-HR too.

What to expect with the new C-HR

It’s hard to determine what the 2023 Toyota C-HR will bring to the table. The updates could get pushed back until 2024 too. But we know it should feature an updated look with a revamped interior.

We haven’t found any clues about its power train options. However, rumors about the C-HR going hybrid and fully electric are floating around. The 2022 model has a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 144 hp and 139 lb-ft of torque.

It could use a power boost and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in about 10 seconds. That’s adequate but requires extra time for passing others on the highway.

The C-HR isn’t available with all-wheel drive, and the Kia Soul isn’t either. But AWD is available with the Honda HR-V.

Will the new C-HR have better features?

It’s possible that the 2023 Toyota C-HR could have better features. It might be slightly larger to provide more passenger and cargo space. Extending the wheelbase could help it provide a smoother ride too.

The new C-HR could get a bigger touchscreen. It currently comes with an 8.0-inch unit. It could get a head-up display and a new digital gauge cluster too. We’re also fans of wireless charging pads.

Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are nice perks, but Bluetooth connectivity works fine too. Perhaps a premium audio system will be available.

We aren’t worried about the interior. It already features an upscale design with textured materials and faux leather. It will probably only get nicer with more premium options and a larger sunroof.

This is the first possible new Toyota C-HR clue that we’ve seen. But the published images may indicate that a new model is on the way. There could be an announcement soon.
