The Porsche Taycan was already getting many upgrades, but Porsche is adding cool new paint options to the lineup. If you are looking for the 2022 Taycan price, that is starting at $81,250.

The 2022 Porsche Taycan and Taycan Cross Turismo are gearing up for release later this year. Porsche has introduced significant upgrades to the 2022 Taycan, including adding Android Auto in the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system. In addition to that, the Taycan will offer Remote Park Assist. The parking process can be controlled remotely via phone and does not require a driver at the wheel. This can park in both parallel and perpendicular spaces.

Porsche is also offering the Turbo Charging Planner. The high-voltage battery can reach a higher temperature than before, which means faster charging. Plus, the excess heat from other components is used for battery temperature regulation.

The Taycan has a few different trim levels. The base model 2022 Taycan gets 402 hp with the smaller battery and 469 hp with the larger battery. The base trim is only offered in rear-wheel drive. The Taycan 4S gets 522 hp with the smaller battery and 562 hp with the larger battery. The Turbo trim level gets the larger battery standard and offers 670 hp. As far as the Turbo S goes, that delivers 750 hp. Plus, the new Cross Turismo option starts at $92,250 and gets 562 hp.

Back in the ’90s, Porsche had some cult favorite colors. These colors have proved to be especially popular among fanatics, such as the 964-generation Porsche 911. With that said, the Porsche Paint to Sample program is expanding! The program will now offer Paint to Sample Plus plus options with even more custom color options. Currently, the Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur program offers 65 colors, plus 17 standard colors.

The 2022 Taycan can now be painted in some seriously ’90s colors like Rubystar or Acid Green. The Paint to Sample program has become increasingly popular in the past few years, making each car personalized to the owner. Some of the other options include Moonlight Blue Metallic, Riviera Blue, and Viola Metallic. These can also be made in a variety of finishes, like metallic or matte.

Sales are strong for the EV so far this year

According to the press release, the Taycan sales have been strong this year. In the first half of 2021, Porsche delivered 5,367 vehicles. In 2020, Porsche sold only 4,414 units the entire year. “Sales of the latest member of the Porsche model range are therefore on a par with those of the sports car icon, the 911.” That’s good news for fans of the newest Porsche model.

As far as the range goes, the 2022 Taycan will stay on par with the 2021 specs of 300 miles. That’s a pretty solid range already. It sounds like with the new battery power and new software updates, Porsche is making an already solid vehicle even more solid. The battery-electric vehicle has gained a lot of fans in its short time on the market and is still gaining momentum.
