The Nissan Maxima is one of the longest-running sedans, with more than 40 years of history behind it. Since 2016 the Nissan Maxima has gone through small, incremental changes yearly. Despite those small changes, this new 2022 full-size sedan is one of the top choices for all drivers; even those who want space and performance without stepping into an SUV.

Drivers have consistently chosen the Nissan Maxima because it offers you a great blend of performance and comfort. When other automakers shifted their commitment to SUVs, Nissan continue to focus on creating a family-friendly sedan.

This new sedan is available in just three trim levels SV, SR, and Platinum. If you want a great sedan and can’t decide which model suits you, learn what each trim offers.

2022 Nissan Maxima SV

The new 2022 Nissan Maxima SV is anything but a base model. Usually, base models are now nearly as luxurious and featured as a new SV trim level. This new sedan will come with soft leather seating, power front seats, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate controls. You can also enjoy Remote Engine Start System with Intelligent Climate Controls, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. This standard selection will ensure all drivers and passengers can get what they want.

A new Nissan Maxima SV also provides various technology features that can impress you. A full suite of driver assistance technologies is offered, including Intelligence Cruise Control, Intelligent Driver Alertness, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, RearView Monitor, Rear Sonar System, Rear Automatic Braking, High beam Assist, and Traffic Sign Recognition.

Other technologies include a seven-inch Advanced Drive-Assist Display, an eight-inch color touchscreen, Nissan Door to Door Navigation, and a Wi-Fi Hotspot. You will also enjoy Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, an eight-speaker audio system, and multiple USB ports.

The Nissan Maxima SV starts at $37,840.

If you love what this full-size sedan can offer and want a sportier driving experience, consider the new 2022 Nissan Maxima SR. One of the big changes to this model is the sport-tuned suspension with retuned dampers, stiffer spring rates, and a larger front stabilizer bar.

Once you step inside, you will be greeted by upgrades such as adjustable LED interior lighting, memory settings for the driver’s seat and side mirrors, and heated and ventilated front seating. You can also enjoy a heated steering wheel, premium Ascot Leather seating with Alcantara inserts, and a premium Ascot Leather-wrapped steering wheel with an Alcantara insert.

This trim level adds Intelligent Lane Intervention, Intelligent Around View Monitor, and Front and Rear Sonar System. Furthermore, this trim also offers technologies like a Bose Premium Audio System with 11 speakers, Active Noise Cancellation, Active Sound Enhancement, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports.

Additional upgrades to this model include black exterior accents and a sport spoiler. This new sedan will start at $43,000.

2022 Nissan Maxima Platinum

The final trim level offered, the Platinum, is the top-of-the-line model, and it certainly looks the part. Starting at $43,150, this new trim level is an incredible choice for more shoppers to consider.

Important changes included with this trim level are a power-tilt/telescoping steering column, rain-sensing variable intermittent windshield wipers, a rear-window power sunshade, an additional memory setting for the steering wheel, heated rear seating, Premium Ascot Leather-appointed seats with diamond-quilting, a Premium Ascot Leather-wrapped steering wheel, and satin Birdseye Maple Wood-tone interior trim.

The additional luxury added to this trim level will make the new Platinum trim a truly spectacular trim level to consider.

Which trim level is right for you?

Considering a new 2022 Nissan Maxima is much easier with just three trims to look at. You will have no problem getting a sedan that can always stand out from the crowd.

The new 2022 Nissan Maxima comes with just one engine, a 3.5L V6 engine producing 300 horsepower and 261 lb.-ft. of torque. If you are looking for a well-equipped and comfortable sedan, honestly, any trim isn’t a bad option, but Car and Driver recommend the Platinum trim, and we agree.

This new sedan is one of the few remaining full-size models available today. It’d be tough to get a similarly-equipped sedan at a better price.
