According to Ford Authority, multiple items are causing supply chain constraints for the 2023 Ford Maverick. These items make it more difficult to get certain trim levels and packages, limiting customers’ choices.

Things such as splash guards, the hard-folding trifold bed cover, the soft-folding tonneau cover, the load box bed liner, the pickup box extender, the load box edge protector with lights, protective film for the hood and fenders, and the trailer hitch receiver are in short supply.

The trailer hitch receiver isn’t a stand-alone item. But it’s available with the Lariat Luxury package, the XLT Luxury package, the Tremor Off-Road package, and the FX4 Off-Road package.

Keep in mind that the 2023 Ford Maverick order books have already closed, so these supply chain issues primarily impact dealer stock orders. Plus, these supply chain issues are subject to change.

How long are the 2023 Maverick delays?

The waiting times for the 2023 Ford Maverick vary based on which model and options you ordered. Certain features, such as the Tremor Off-Road package and the hybrid engine, could push your order back due to limited supplies.

Some sources suggest that the wait could be as little as 143 days, which breaks down to about 20 weeks. Other sources warn that the delays could leave people waiting for 10 to 13 months.

Many people are still waiting on their 2022 orders, which have may have to be converted into 2023 orders.

Production dates have been pushed back to fill a massive backlog of orders. The 2023 Ford Maverick production was scheduled to begin on October 24, 2022, but now the production date is expected to start on November 14.

This aligns with the end of production for the 2022 Maverick. The 2022 models were supposed to end production on October 21, 2022. But now production is scheduled to end by November 14. Plus, these dates could change.

After receiving 86,000 new orders at a rapid rate, Ford closed the 2023 Maverick order books early. Ford is already met with a limited production, and the supply chain issues only add more headaches.
