RVs are one of the most versatile and fun forms of travel. No worrying about catching flights or whether your room is sanitary when staying at a motel. It provides a way to travel while still enjoying all the luxuries of home, including your kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping area. However, space is at a premium in RVs.

Weight is always a consideration when you have an RV. Some compromises need to be made regarding storage space to keep the RV as light as possible. That’s why it is essential to pack multi-use items when traveling in your RV. Here are some things that can help make your trip more enjoyable.

According to Outdoorsy, one of the most important questions you should ask yourself when choosing what to pack is will this item help you the most on your trip. Multi-use items free up storage space and reduce the time it takes to pack your RV and clean the items. Instead of cleaning and packing two or three items, you only have one. That means more time to do the things you love.

Kitchen multi-use items

One of the best things about an RV is that you can cook your own food, which eliminates the need to eat out at a restaurant on the road. Since space is at a premium, you will want to choose items with more than one use. For instance, mason jars can store leftovers and small items, and as drinking cups.

A wooden cutting board can be used as a serving tray and a cutting board. It could also be used as wall art, depending on how decorative it looks. When using it as wall art, make sure to cut on the side that won’t be seen to keep it looking nice. Hanging the cutting board as wall art also eliminates the need to take up precious storage space.

A roll-up dish rack can be used for its intended purpose of drying dishes or washed fruit and veggies, but it can also be used as a hot plate. This adds another multi-use item to your kitchen.

Bathroom multi-use items

The bathroom is another place where you can find many multi-use gadgets. Turkish towels are great because they dry fast, and they don’t take up much space because these towels are thinner than traditional towels. They can also be used as beach blankets and shawls for those chilly nights around the campfire.

Three in one soap is another great item because it doesn’t take up as much space as a shampoo, condition, and body wash bottle would.

Coconut oil can be used as a moisturizer, but it can also be used as cooking oil. As an added perk of using it for cooking, coconut oil is healthier when compared to vegetable oil.

In addition to these great space-saving items, S-hooks are great in RVs because it allows you to hang items rather than laying them around the RV. Anything collapsible is always a great idea because it takes up very little space when not in use. Some other great items to have as space-savers are collapsible cups, collapsible pet bowls, collapsible dish racks, and even collapsible kayaks if you are the adventurous type.

RVs are great fun and have gained popularity recently due to social distancing protocols that were implemented during the beginning of the pandemic. Not only can you see the country from the comfort of your own space, but you can also do it on your own terms.

There are so many great products on the market now that can make your RVing experience even more enjoyable with the use of multi-use items.
