Even if you’re not exactly the kind of person who gets excited about new EVs, the 2023 Genesis G80 might pique your interest. It’s the second electrified Genesis model in the lineup, and it’s a sedan that is already generating buzz among enthusiasts. Great, but how much will it cost, and what makes this EV unique?

There are a few packages and add-ons to explore that introduce generous features and luxurious extras. Still, even the baseline version is oozing with posh and tech must-haves. So, what about loading this stylish contender up to the nines with every available bell and whistle? How much would it cost to buy a 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 at its fully-loaded best?

The baseline 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 is pretty sweet

There is nothing entry-level about the baseline 2023 Genesis Electrified G80. Additionally, there won’t be any other trim to consider. Still, even the non-excitable consumer will get excited about these sweet standard amenities. From comfort and convenience to safety and innovation, this might be the next EV that convinces you to buy.

Enjoy everything the G80 Prestige Package offers on the Electrified G80, including Nappa leather with heated and ventilated seats, adjustable ambient lighting, heated steering, matte wood trims, acoustic laminated windows, head-up display, and power rear sunshades. Not a single detail has been overlooked. Genesis also outlines that the starting MRSP for this lavishly equipped sedan is $79,825, which is comparable to others in this vehicle segment.

The more than ample powertrain of this plush EV sedan

For starters, the Genesis Electrified G80 does feature an 800-volt electrical architecture enabling super-fast charging rates. Powering this luxury experience on wheels is a pair of electric motors, one for each axle, providing all-wheel drive capability. It also harnesses a combined 365 horsepower. Car and Driver tested the gas pedal and found the Genesis Electrified G80 could hit 60 mph in a mere 4.1 seconds. The critics also say that highway driving in this sedan is comfortable, steady, and super-quiet.

While the 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 only offers one powertrain configuration now, there are plenty of packages and amenities you still have available to add. Additionally, there are plans in the works for other engine customizations expected in the future. For now, Genesis says you can expect an impressive 282 miles of range on a charge.

Other exciting packages and accessories of the Electrified G80

Genesis may have introduced its first EV at the Auto Show in Shanghai last year. However, it’s already surging forward with improvements, including the 2023 Electrified G80 with a robust menu of standard and optional packages and accessories to customize your driving experience.

Add-ons include a new G-Matrix pattern for that signature grille that incorporates a charging port. There are exclusive 19-inch wheels and a unique bumper, as the Genesis Configurator describes. There is also a new and optional Matira Blue exterior available. Surcharges for metallic and pearl paints add an additional $575 or a $1,500 tax for matte finishes.

So, if you load up your 2023 Genesis Electrified G80 with every available extra, along with destination charges and freight fees, you’ll spend over $80,000. However, compared to similar pricing and equipment for others, like the Mercedes-Benz, it’s an exciting value proposition. For now, only consumers in select states can configure and order their Electrified G80, including Arizona, Nevada, Utah, and Washington. After seeing what all this luxury EV sedan has to offer, you might be excited enough to get your hands on one.
