The Mercedes Benz GLC 350e 4MATIC is a versatile hybrid that incorporates style, luxury, and expanded electric range. The hybrid version of the 2020-GLC Class was officially revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show last fall. The refreshed 350e GLC is just Mercedes’ third generation of hybrid-plugin vehicles. The most notable upgrade to the 2020 rendition of this model is its larger battery pack, which translates to longer trips powered by just electricity.

What Makes the Mercedes Benz GLC 350e 4MATIC Special?

The GLC 350e has a combined 90kW electric motor and inline-4 turbo gas engine that produces a 315-horsepower. The electronic motor pledges enhanced efficiency and speed and can support a max torque of 516 lb-ft. You can charge the GLC 350e’s battery while the gas engine is in control, as well as at designated charging stations and at home. Its automatic transmission now has 9 speeds.

While Mercedes vaunts this more fuel-conscious model, complete specifications on the GLC 350e’s driving range is not yet available. However, the vehicle’s driving range has been estimated at 22 to 29 mpg. The base price for the GLC 350e is $51,900; additional costs include transportation and handling, custom installations, and accessories.

Hybrid Design

Along with its revitalized hybrid powertrain, the GLC 350e has a polished, masculine exterior along with 20-inch wheel upgrade options. The interior can be finished with a variety of upholstery and trim choices, including Mercedes’ signature AMG saddle brown leather and natural grain walnut wood edging. The interior storage and cargo space in the trunk are lacking, but the array of technological advancements will help you overlook that.

The GLC technology includes Artificial Intelligence, which can adjust the car cabin’s temperature or power your GPS navigation experience by initiating a simple “Hey Mercedes”, then insert your command. You can customize your car cabin experience any time you’d like with the GLC’s LED ambient lighting that comes in 64 colors, and can also be prompted by AI.

Additional GLC 350e technology features include Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionalities, a 10.25-inch touchscreen, and has the Burmester “feelgood” surround sound available. There’s also a touchpad console and steering-wheel with touch control keys. With the “Mercedes me” resource for Benz drivers, you can access your vehicle anywhere with remote start, lock, or unlock; in-car WIFI is also available for an additional rate per month.

When it comes to car safety, Mercedes does not compromise. The GLC 350e’s standard blind spot assist feature helps to make lane changes that much safer, and can also help with adjusting your speed. The vehicle’s sensors can help spot approaching hazards and even detect danger from behind. There are limited and powertrain warranty options but no complimentary scheduled maintenance options.

The Final Verdict

The Mercedes Benz GLC 350e 4MATIC is fuel-conscious but not completely fuel-specific. Its hybrid powertrain system indicates its efficiency and refreshed style. The vehicle’s technology options are pretty dazzling, and its safety features are quite inventive. The GLC 350e’s thoughtful design makes it a great option for those who are environmentally aware and want some luxury in their lives.
