The BMW 3 Series has minimal issues in CR’s Auto Reliability Survey
Once a year, Consumer Reports releases an Auto Reliability Survey. For the most recent one, CR collected over 300,000 owner surveys for vehicles, including luxury cars. Owners identified various problem areas, such as noises, paint, engine, leaks, brakes, and the electrical system.
According to the Auto Reliability Survey, the BMW 3 Series has fewer problems than other luxury cars, including the C-Class, IS, and other Mercedes-Benz and Lexus sedans. So Consumer Reports named the 3 Series the most reliable luxury car.
Furthermore, BMW fares well in overall car brand reliability. CR ranks the German company as the third most reliable car brand. However, Lexus edges it out to take the second spot, while Toyota places first. And in this automaker reliability ranking, Mercedes-Benz has the dubious distinction as the most unreliable car brand.
