While the arrival of SUVs is still ramping up, which makes and models have been labeled as the most reliable electric vehicle options? These electric SUVs don’t exactly look like your traditional SUV but tend to be more of a crossover shape and size. This allows for more range from the motors, one of the more critical factors impacting vehicle choice.

It offers a more extended range, the ability to use DC-Fast Charging, and helpful safety and technology features.

TrueCar thought the Hyundai IONIQ 5 was a reliable SUV

As far as the 2022 Hyundai IONIQ 5 goes, TrueCar experts thought this electric SUV delivered. Though this is the first year for the IONIQ 5, a lot went into the design that hasn’t given buyers much trouble yet. The 5 has four trim levels with various ranges, from 220 miles to 303 miles of range. TreuCar found these estimates to be pretty accurate.

Kelley Blue Book says don’t forget the Toyota RAV4 Prime

The 2022 Toyota RAV4 Prime is already known for its reliability with everything else from the automaker. Kelley Blue Book gave the electric SUV a 4.8/5. KBB said this electric SUV from Toyota has excellent safety scores, solid fuel economy, and comes with all-wheel drive standard. The non-electric Toyota RAV4 SUV is one of the most popular and best-selling vehicles on the market, which is a good starting point for this EV. Most of the scores from actual owners on Kelley Blue Book rated the reliability 5/5.

The Ford Mustang Mach-E also impressed experts

At first, the Ford Mustang Mach-E might be hard to get ahold of, but that’s almost a good thing. People love the Mach-E, and the 2022 version of the electric SUV is even better. Ford added on to the range of all models, and the larger battery pack offers 270 miles on a charge. Most tests have put the real-world range even higher than that. There were a few hiccups with the Mach-E last year, but most of those seem to be worked out by now.

The Hyundai Kona Electric made the list of reliable electric SUVs

TrueCar put the 2022 Hyundai Kona Electric reasonably high on its list of best electric vehicles. It has around 258 miles of range and a hatchback design that make it a practical and reliable option. Hyundai also offers a 10-year, 100,000-mile matter warranty, suitable for peace of mind. While the Kona electric SUV is popular, it is also easier to get ahold of than some other SUVs on the list.

As more people get behind the wheel of electric SUVs, automakers will add more options. It might take a few months for people to be able to call an SUV reliable, especially if it is hard to get ahold of due to supply and demand.
