It’s ideal to get a car that’s both affordable and reliable — with a low purchase price and minimal repair costs. Also, a hybrid vehicle with money-saving high fuel economy lowers the ownership costs even more. There’s a model that combines all of these positive traits. It’s the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid, the most reliable car. The small sedan is also one of the cheapest new hybrids

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is the most reliable car

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid compact sedan was named the most reliable car by Consumer Reports after it conducted its annual Auto Reliability Survey. The organization received hundreds of thousands of surveys over the previous year from vehicle owners. Problem areas that owners identified in the surveys include brakes, leaks, the engine, paint, electrical system, and noises.

Since the Corolla Hybrid had minimal issues in these problem areas, it earned the title of the most reliable car, as detailed by USA Today. Additionally, other Toyota hybrid vehicles made the Consumer Reports 10 most reliable cars list. The Prius took the fourth spot, while the Prius Prime placed 10th. Plus, the fully gas-powered version of the Corolla earned the seventh spot.

High-level reliability has numerous benefits. As mentioned earlier, it translates to lower repair costs — with less frequent and severe repairs. There’s also less stress and hassles from having to deal with issues. Additionally, a reliable vehicle is more likely to last longer. Other benefits include consistent performance and functionality, as well as a safer ride.

The Toyota Corolla Hybrid is the second-cheapest new hybrid vehicle in 2023

In addition to being the most reliable car on the Consumer Reports list, the 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is one of the cheapest new hybrid vehicles in 2023. The starting cost of the compact sedan is only $22,800 MSRP, which makes it a budget-friendly choice for automotive shoppers.

The only new hybrid model that’s cheaper is the 2023 Ford Maverick compact pickup truck, which starts at $22,595 MSRP. However, the high demand and a long wait list for the Maverick results in dealer markups. So, in the end, you’ll likely end up paying less for the Corolla Hybrid.

Other affordable new hybrid cars include the 2023 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid ($24,550 MSRP), 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid ($26,590 MSRP), 2023 Toyota Prius ($27,450 MSRP), 2023 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid ($28,250 MSRP), and 2023 Toyota Camry Hybrid ($28,355 MSRP). However, compared to these models, the Corolla Hybrid is cheaper.

The Corolla Hybrid offers high-level reliability, and it’s affordable to buy and own

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid has a low price, and its high-level reliability results in a low cost of ownership. Also, there are a couple of other factors that make the reliable compact sedan affordable to own. This includes very high efficiency. The Corolla Hybrid gets an estimated fuel economy of up to 53 mpg city/46 mpg highway, resulting in considerable savings at the pump.

Additionally, all trim levels of the small sedan have a free maintenance plan. Good for two years or 25,000 miles, it covers factory-scheduled maintenance, including oil changes, multipoint inspections, topping off the fluids, and tire rotations.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Hybrid is a dependable vehicle that’s financially accessible for the masses. It’s the most reliable car — and one of the cheapest new hybrids.
