National Average for gasoline is $3.90, but these are some of the most expensive SUVs to fill up with gas this month. If one of these sport utility vehicles is on your list, getting a gas card at Sam’s Club or Costco might be a good idea.

Consumer Reports says that even though gas is $3.90 today, the 2022 Ford Expedition will still cost $112 to fill up. The 2022 Expedition is big but was Consumer Reports’ number one pick for large SUVs. With a 28.3-gallon gas tank capacity and a range of 453 miles, it isn’t surprising that this SUV costs more than $100 to fill up. The overall mileage came in at 16 mpg, with 11 in the city and 23 on the highway.

Chevrolet’s Suburban is the second most expensive SUV to fill up with gas

The 2022 Chevrolet Suburban is another large sport utility vehicle. Chevrolet’s Suburban (and the matching GMC Yukon XL) returned the same 16/11/22 mpg as the Expedition. The Chevy SUV has a 28-gallon gas tank that gets 448 miles of range per tank. That works out to about $111 for a full tank of gas. Plus, the Subaruban has a high score for the predicted owner satisfaction.

Consumer Reports recommends the Toyota Sequoia

People and critics alike seem to appreciate the 2022 Toyota Sequoia. Thanks to Toyota’s reliability history and the sheer size of the Sequoia, this SUV fits into a lot of lifestyles. It scored well on the road test, and Consumer Reports gave the SUV good scores for the predicted reliability and owner satisfaction. The reported fuel economy came in at 15 mpg overall, 10 in the city, and 21 on the highway.

The Nissan Armada still costs more than $100 to fill up with gas

Buyers of the 2022 Nissan Armada report getting 14 miles per gallon overall, 10 in the city, and 20 on the highway. Nissan equipped the Arnada with a 26-gallon tank that gets 364 miles until the next fuel stop. The full tank cost is $103 for the 2022 Nissan Armada with the current gas price. Scores for reliability and owner satisfaction were below average, but this Nissan SUV did well on the road test.

Don’t forget the large Infiniti QX80 SUV

While you might not think of the 2022 Infiniti QX80, it fits into this category nicely. Consumer Reports calls it a luxury large sport utility vehicle that scored well on the road test. The overall fuel economy came in at 15 mpg, 11 in the city, and 21 on the highway. With its 26-gallon tank and 390 miles out of a tank, this SUV costs about $103 to fill up.
