The Most Expensive Motorcycle Ever Sold Was Auctioned Off for $11 Million
When you think of expensive motorcycles, certain luxury brands rush to your head. Ducati, BMW, maybe even Harley Davidson (depending on the bike). But what if I told you the world’s most expensive motorcycle was designed by a handbag company? And not only that, this handbag company managed to auction off the bike for $11 million.

What’s the most expensive motorcycle in the world?
The title of most expensive motorcycle in the world belongs to the Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter, which sold at auction for $11 million back in 2012. Albeit, the motorcycle didn’t start as the world’s most expensive motorcycle, with a starting price of $110,000. By comparison, the Combat Motors Wraith starts at $155,000 and is an actual production motorcycle.
But clearly, someone really wanted this designer motorbike. After all, its see-through design makes it a lucrative addition to someone’s motorcycle collection. The Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter that sold for $11 million is one of 45 models ever built, making it exceedingly rare as well.
How powerful is the Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter
If you’re buying an $11 million dollar bike, you’d hope it’s an absolute powerhouse. However, in terms of power, the bike is somewhat tame (for the price). Built on top of the Confederate P120 Fighter bike, the Neiman Marcus version packs 160 horsepower in the 1966cc engine. Granted, that engine is large for a motorbike, and is paired with a lightweight carbon fiber frame, so the bike isn’t a total slouch.
The Neiman Marcus Limited Edition Fighter has a top speed of 190 miles per hour. But beyond that, this futuristic motorcycle is shrouded in mystery. But the story of Neiman Marcus doesn’t end there, because this Limited Edition Fighter motorcycle isn’t the only time the designer fashion company built a motorcycle.
Neiman Marcus also teamed up with Ducati to build a motorcycle

In 1998, Neiman Marcus partnered with Ducati to create the Ducati 748L Neiman Marcus Edition. This motorcycle isn’t as rare, powerful, or expensive as the Fighter, but the fact that this designer fashion company has built two motorcycles still feels strange.
100 examples of the Ducati 748L Neiman Marcus Edition were built. Each was fitted with a 748cc engine and made about 98 horsepower. That said, the bike could still reach speeds of 154mph, which isn’t too far off from the $11 million Limited Edition Fighter.
But unlike the fighter, many people could actually attain this bike (provided you can find one). These bikes are just a regular Ducati with a designer coat of paint. But that still doesn’t jack up the price. Most of these models have gone for less than $10,000, which for a sportbike is fairly reasonable.
But chances are, both of these bikes are rare enough that you aren’t going to own one anytime soon. And if it makes you feel better, I don’t think I’ll ever earn 11 million in my entire life either. For now, all we can do is point and gawk at the world’s most expensive motorcycle.
