The new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 might be one of the most advanced supercars the model has ever hosted, but it isn’t the most expensive factory Corvette ever. In fact, the C8 generation has no model in its lineup that outspends the swivel-eyed track beast from the previous generation, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1. Check out the last word in front-engine Corvette tenure, the supercharged and winged ZR1.

How much is the most expensive new Chevrolet Corvette?

The most expensive new Chevrolet Corvette is the 2023 Z06, which starts at $109,295 for the base 1LZ coupe. From there, the Corvette rises up to around $130,145 for the 3LZ Convertible.

1LZ Coupe$109,295
1LZ Convertible$116,795
2LZ Coupe$118,495
2LZ Convertible$125,495
3LZ Coupe$123,145
3LZ Convertible$130,145

Still, even with the six-figure price tag, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06’s $109,295 starting price point puts it behind the model’s range-topper from the last generation, the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1.

Unlike the world-class mid-engine, orchestral flat-plane power delivery of the C8 Z06, the ZR1 is a love letter to old-school Corvette formulas. Specifically, the ZR1 produces a tire-vaporizing 755 horsepower and 715 lb-ft of torque from its supercharged 6.2L V8 mill. As a result, the ZR1 remains the most powerful factory, road-going Corvette in the model’s history

How much does a Corvette ZR1 cost?

The 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 started at about $122,095, around $12,800 more than the 2023 Z06 1LZ Coupe. Moreover, Kelley Blue Book (KBB) says that the range-topping C7 model could have pushed closer to $150,000 with options.

Now that the model is out of production, the only means to get one is by finding a used model for sale or on an auction site. However, KBB says the typical listing price for a used ZR1 is around $162,029. As a result, the ZR1 is clearly an appreciating collectible on top of a track-ready performance car.

How many 2019 ZR1s did they make?

Chevrolet made just 2,953 ZR1s for the 2019 model year, per CorvSport. Furthermore, the automaker broke the production into 2,441 coupes and 512 convertibles. Those figures make up 8.5% of the 2019 Corvette’s overall sales.

As a result, the C7 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 is a scarce vehicle and a true collectible.

Why is the new Corvette Z06 so expensive?

Like the ZR1 from the C7 generation, the new 2023 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is a range-topper unlike any ‘Vette before. For instance, the Z06’s flat-plane 5.5L V8 is the first engine of its kind for a Corvette model.

The powerplant produces 670 horsepower at 8,400 RPM, making it the second most potent mill and highest-revving engine in the model’s history.
