Lexus, the renowned luxury branch of the Japanese car company Toyota, is reputed for reliability. Although Lexus reliability is strong, the cars aren’t entirely without fault. Some Lexus owners have filed complaints on CarComplaints.com. The models on the following list are the most complained about Lexus cars.

Lexus LS 460

This Lexus sedan is on the larger side. Additionally, the Lexus LS is a flagship car for the luxury car brand, Lexus. It’s also third on the list of the most complained about Lexus cars. Overall, owners have reported 49 complaints in total for the Lexus LS 460. While this isn’t a large number of complaints by any means, it still makes the list. Bear in mind, though, that the LS 460 was in production between the years 2007 and 2016. It’s no longer in production as the 460.

The worst model year for the Lexus LS is 2007, according to CarComplaints.com. The 2007 vintage deals with interior accessory problems. 2007 is also the most complained about model year for the Lexus LS 460 sedan. However, the most-reported problem is with the 2008 model year. This LS model experiences problems with a melting dashboard and door panels, according to the consumer complaints filed on Car Complaints.

Lexus IS 250

The Lexus IS 250 was in production from 2006 to 2015. Of all the consumers that bought an IS 250, 74 of them have filed complaints about this luxury car on CarComplaints.com. The Lexus IS 250 was a popular model, too, which likely has a bit to do with the fact that it’s second on the list of the most complained about Lexus cars.

The model year posted as the worst of all is 2007––just like the Lexus LS 460 above. This model experiences issues with interior accessories, too. In fact, the 2007 Lexus IS 250 is also the most complained about model year. Plus, 2007 claims the most reported problem. Apparently, several owners saw issues with a melting dashboard. Sound familiar?

Lexus ES 350

This luxury sedan is of the extremely popular ES line of Lexus cars. In total, 84 Lexus ES 350 consumers have filed official complaints on CarComplaints.com. It’s the most complained about Lexus car. It’s also the one that’s been in production longer of the three on this list. There are many factors that can contribute to a particular model being one of the most complained about. 84 consumer complaints definitely don’t mean that the Lexis ES 350 is a sedan to avoid. Still, knowing the history of a car is fundamental research.

The worst model year for the Lexus ES 350 is 2008. Another Lexus sedan model year dealing with interior accessory issues, apparently. However, the 2007 model year is the most complained about of all the year of Lexus ES 350 production. The 2007 model year also claims the most reported problem. This makes the ES 350 another 2007 model year Lexus sedan that experiences a melting dashboard.

Lexus car reliability

Overall, Lexus has earned its reputation for good reliability. A glance at some model years in Consumer Reports history of Lexus cars shows great predicted reliability ratings. This list just goes to show that even cars that make it onto the most complained about list for their respective brand aren’t necessarily bad or unreliable cars.
