Luxury SUVs are an appealing choice for many automotive shoppers, with their elegant designs, good handling, premium features, and state-of-the-art technology features. An additional desirable trait of models in the segment is high-level comfort. And according to U.S. News & World Report, the most comfortable luxury SUV is an American model: the full-size 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Excursions in the Grand Wagoneer are like riding in a cloud.

U.S. News created a list of the most comfortable luxury SUVs — with a wide range of makes and models. And the most comfortable one of all is the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. The media site states that the cabin of the American SUV is one of the “nicest ones” available. It’s also very quiet — and has a liberal use of high-quality materials.

The cavernous Grand Wagoneer can comfortably fit up to eight people, with supportive seats and plenty of legroom and headroom. It also offers many premium features. This includes heated and cooled seats, massaging front seats, a heated steering wheel, a four-zone automatic climate control system, a refrigerated center console, and a massive panoramic sunroof.

There are also a wealth of technologies. This includes a 12.1-inch infotainment touchscreen system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, Amazon Fire TV, Amazon Alexa, a wireless charger, and a rear-seat entertainment system.

Like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the next best models are also American: Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator

The second and third most comfortable luxury SUVs on the U.S. News list are also American full-size models: the 2023 Cadillac Escalade and the 2023 Lincoln Navigator. The media site describes the cabin of the Escalade as “posh.” And like the Jeep Grand Wagoneer, it provides considerable comfort and space for all eight seating positions. The cargo area is spacious too. Even for the third-row rear seats, passengers have plenty of room to stretch out their legs.

Also, the Escalade offers a similar list of many premium amenities as the Grand Wagoneer. This includes a wireless charger, smartphone integration, massaging front seats, a heated steering wheel, heated and cooled seats, a rear entertainment system, a center console refrigerator and freezer, and a panoramic sunroof.

Comfort is also aided by the smooth ride. This is courtesy of an adaptive air suspension and a Magnetic Ride Control feature. Plus, the Escalade has an even larger 16.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system.

The full-size 2023 Lincoln Navigator takes third place for luxury SUV comfort, says U.S. News. Along with earning a high spot on the U.S. News comfort list, the media site named the Navigator the best large luxury SUV

U.S. News highlights the “cavernous accommodations” and “lavish interior” of the Navigator. It has one of the most expansive cabins — with comfortable seating for eight passengers, seats that are ergonomically designed for optimal comfort, and a generous amount of storage space. Also, the Navigator offers a similar array of premium features as the Grand Wagoneer and Escalade. Additionally, for families that need more cabin space, there’s a long-wheelbase Navigator L model.

Honorable mention for high-level comfort

The best model on the U.S. News list of most comfortable luxury SUVs is the 2023 Jeep Grand Wagoneer. It’s followed by two other American models, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade and the 2023 Lincoln Navigator.

Also, there are some other models on the list that are worth mentioning. After these three models, the next most comfortable ones are the Audi Q3, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and BMW iX. Additionally, U.S. News lists some budget-friendly picks, including the reasonably-priced Volvo XC40, Lincoln Corsair, and BMW X1.
