Buying a minivan can be a challenging task. Only a few models are left, each with strengths and weaknesses. However, one of the most essential parts of any good minivan is its cargo space. Luckily, experts at Cars.com measured each model to find the ones with the most cargo space. We’ve got all the information you need to find the minivan model that allows more storage than the rest. Here are the three minivans with the most cargo space: the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica, 2021 Toyota Sienna, and 2022 Kia Carnival.

3. 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Limited

According to Cars.com, the third-most cargo space in a minivan comes from the 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Limited. This model offers quite a bit of room for anything in need of storage. First, owners get 41.6 cubic feet of space behind the second row of seats. An additional 3.2 cubic feet is also present in the underfloor Stow ‘N Go compartments. Next, the space behind the third row is 17.6 cubic feet. This Pacifica tied with the 2021 Honda Odyssey Elite for second-row cargo space and, behind its third row, barely beats it when combined with Stow ‘N Go storage space.

In the 2021 Pacifica lineup, the Limited model is one of the most costly. Its new MSRP price was $50,310, according to Edmunds. Standard equipment includes 13 speakers, navigation, hands-free power doors and liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charging pad, ventilated front seats, and more. A used model today will likely cost somewhere in the $40,000 range, but prices may vary drastically.

2. 2021 Toyota Sienna XSE

Next, the second-most cargo space found in a minivan is with the 2021 Toyota Sienna XSE. The Sienna is a staple in the minivan segment, so it’s not surprising to see it’s one of the best at something. Cars.com says the XSE model needs the Super Long Slide seats midway back in order to achieve maximum cargo room. It has 44.6 cubic feet behind the second row and 21.7 cubic feet behind the third. That’s roughly three more cubic feet than the Pacifica in both areas.

The XSE trim is right above the XLE in the lineup. As a mid-range trim, it costs $43,215 new and builds upon many base model and XLE features. Highlights of exclusive XSE features include black roof rails, wireless charging, a 12-speaker JBL audio system, and navigation. More affordable trims add things like heated seats, a sunroof, and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Used Sienna XSE models are closer to $50,000 today than they were new.

1. 2022 Kia Carnival SX has the most cargo space

Finally, the minivan with the most cargo space is the 2022 Kia Carnival SX. According to Cars.com, the Kia model offers 45.5 cubic feet of space behind the second row of seats and 23 behind the third. In both instances, the Carnival has a big lead over its rivals. Even the second-place Sienna falls short, with more than a cubic foot less in either location. Other models, like the Pacifica and Honda Odyssey, aren’t particularly close to matching Kia’s minivan.

Unfortunately, the most cargo space, like with other models, comes with one of the most expensive Kia Carnival trims. The 2022 SX model is $42,635 MSRP, more costly than all but the SX Prestige. However, it comes very well-equipped. Buyers can access excellent features like ventilated front seats, a rear entertainment system, a surround-view monitor, and parking collision avoidance assist. Many local dealers still have 2022 model years available new.

Which minivans offer the most cargo space?

In conclusion, three recent model-year minivans offer more cargo space than any others. The 2021 Chrysler Pacifica Limited, 2021 Toyota Sienna XSE, and 2022 Kia Carnival SX are the best for lugging cargo around. Every minivan has its strengths, but if storing more items in your vehicle is your primary concern, the 2022 Kia Carnival is the best model to choose.
