Worst mechanic? Florida man accused of attacking elderly woman after failing to fix her Ford truck
Most mechanics charge an arm and a leg—but this one allegedly threw in a punch for free. Miami police arrested 55-year-old Ramon Cantoral after he reportedly attacked an elderly woman who dared to ask when he’d actually fix the truck she’d dropped off over three months ago. Instead of getting her Ford back, she ended up with a bruised face and a broken phone.
A long wait, a bad fix, and an even worse response from the Florida mechanic
The woman had been waiting months for her Ford pickup. She’d even paid Cantoral $1,200 up front. But he “was unable to fix” it. When she went to track him down, his brother told her he was out—but that he’d “contact her shortly.” Before she could leave, Cantoral showed up furious.
“My brother told me that you had the police in front of his house, and now I’m not going to fix your vehicle!” he reportedly shouted.
At that point, no one had called the cops. She had simply asked where he was.
So what if she was recording?
Cantoral noticed the woman holding her phone. He reportedly assumed she was recording or calling someone. But that shouldn’t have mattered. Instead of handling the conversation like an adult, he allegedly slapped the phone out of her hand.
It hit her in the face, leaving her with a swollen, bruised eye. It also broke the phone.
After realizing what he’d done, Cantoral didn’t apologize. He didn’t even try to explain himself. He “took off running.”
Now Florida mechanic is the one waiting
Later that night, the woman “felt pain in her left eye and observed that her left eye was swollen and bruised.” She reported the incident to Miami police, who documented her injuries.
The Felony Apprehension Team tracked Cantoral down at his shop and arrested him. He’s now facing charges of “aggravated battery on a person 65 or older” and “misdemeanor criminal mischief.”
A business dispute is never worth a felony
Maybe she was the worst customer in the world. Maybe she was annoying. None of that matters. The second Cantoral turned violent, he lost—badly. A bad Yelp review is one thing. A felony charge? That’s a whole different level of bad business.
This woman just wanted her truck back. Instead, she got a black eye, a busted phone, and a repair bill for a job that never happened. Meanwhile, the mechanic who allegedly hit her is now sitting in jail, waiting to see if a judge will throw the book at him.
