Thieves continue to target pickup trucks for valuable items left inside such as tools and electronics. One man was fed up after his work truck was targeted multiple times, so he left something disgusting for the criminals to find.

Man gets revenge on thieves targeting his work truck

One man with a work truck was sick and tired of thieves taking his tools. Drivers often need their pickup trucks for work and hauling supplies but can be targeted multiple times.

Over a few weeks, the owner noticed items such as piping, old tarps, bungee cords, and load straps missing from the back of his ride.

He spoke to a few neighbors who mentioned seeing someone linger across the street and around the corner for days.

It’s unclear why he didn’t call the police, but he was mostly annoyed by the situation. He didn’t lose anything on the super expensive side but wanted revenge.

After remembering how people deterred thieves by arming their cars with glitter bombs and fart spray, he came up with a sinister idea.

He decided to fill an old toolbox and a cheap lockbox with literal crap. Sorry to get on a gross level here, but the man literally went number two in both items.

Then he added nails and large screws so the boxes would sound like they had tools in them. He left  notes in the boxes saying, “Since you seem to enjoy stealing my crap, I hope this was worth your time.”

After that, he closed the items with zip ties and waited. The next morning, the boxes were gone and the thief hadn’t been seen since.

The owner of the work truck attributes this win to the thief thinking they scored valuable tools to find crap instead. However, he also stopped being lazy and started taking his tools inside each night.

Plus, he installed a surveillance system to catch potential thieves in action if they decide to strike again.
