Ludacris Gets $200,000 Mercedes-Amg S63 Stolen as He Stopped to Use an ATM
The Mercedes-Amg S63 is one of the most powerful and expensive sedans the brand has ever produced. However, one of these Mercedes-Amg models went on a bit of a wild ride a few weeks ago after thieves decided to steal it.
According to WSB-TV2, part of what makes this story interesting is that the vehicle in question belongs to rapper and actor Ludacris. In fact, Ludacris was just a few feet away at an ATM when the robbery took place. Thankfully, the S63 is full of tech that complicated an easy getaway.
How do you steal a $200,000 Mercedes-Amg S63?
This stolen begins as Ludacris pulls up to an Atlanta shopping center in his Mercedes-Amg S63. At this point, WSB-TV2 report that Ludacris decided to go to a nearby ATM to retrieve some cash. However, it seems someone was watching him very closely. We know this because a video obtained by WSB-TV2 shows a man quickly making his way into the six-figure sedan.
Unfortunately for Ludacris, he decided to leave his Mercedes-AMG S63 running as he went to complete his ATM run. As a result, he accidentally became a prime target for this crime. However, Ludacris reportedly left an iPad, a Louis Vuitton bag, and a laptop inside of his S63. As a result, police were reportedly able to trace the iPad and recover it. Unfortunately, the S63 was nowhere to be found.
Mercedes found the stolen super sedan
Part of what makes the Mercedes-AMG S63 appealing is its abundance of onboard tech. As a result, it isn’t easy to make a swift getaway in one of these cars. While the 603-hp twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 can reach 60 mph in around three seconds, it’s worthless if the car has a tracker. As a result, WSB-TV2 report that Mercedes-Benz was able to track the stolen car with ease.
When police followed up to find the Mercedes-AMG S63, they caught up with it outside of an apartment complex. While police were able to recover this stolen car, Atlanta police Deputy Chief Michael O’Connor told WSB-TV2,
“It’s imperative that people take their key fob with them when they leave their vehicle.”

Since Ludacris made it extremely easy for the thief by leaving his keys in the car, he took to Instagram to make light of the situation with a hilarious skit.
Ludacris’ sense of humor is the best part of this story
As you can see from the Instagram video embedded above, Ludacris and his friends are managing this stolen Mercedes-AMG S63 story with a good sense of humor. While Ludacris managed to get his car back, you might not be quite as lucky if your car doesn’t feature a complex tracking system. As a result, it is worth taking extra time to secure your vehicle, even when you’re close nearby, because you never know who is watching.
