Low demand forces Ineos Grenadier to gut prices by up to $8,500

It might be a good time to strike if you’re interested in buying an Ineos Grenadier truck or SUV. Prices increased after tariffs ramped up, which resulted in decreased demand. Now the automaker hopes to win you back with discounts of up to $8,500. 

Ineos Grenadier truck and SUV prices are dropping 

Recently, the Ineos Grenadier SUV and quartermaster pickup truck made their way into America. The automaker hoped that these rugged body-on-frame vehicles would attract off-roading enthusiasts. 

But the British company got slapped with tariffs. The tariff on cars imported from Europe is 27.5%. To make things worse for the company, these expensive off-roading vehicles are built in France. Plus, there is the 25% chicken tax from 1964. 

To cover the costs, the price of the Grenadier Quartermaster went from $85,500 to $94,500. The SUV started at $76,700. According to Car and Driver, this caused interest in the off-roading vehicles to dry up. 

Now the SUV starts at $72,600 after getting a $7,900 discount. The truck starts at $86,000 after the $8,500 discount. Also, the discounts became active on August 1, 2025. 

But is the automaker losing its gamble with vintage ’80s style SUVs? Yes, it looks like an older Land Rover, and it should be bulletproof. It’s tough and simple while lacking the comfort of modern adventurers. 

These vehicles have a high price tag and don’t include the basics with a spartan interior. Some may think that a vehicle that starts at $70,000 should have modern comforts like heated seats.
