The Jeep Wrangler is an adventurous SUV that can take you pretty far off the pavement. However, accidents happen, and you need to be prepared for emergencies.
A couple was off-roading with their Jeep in Bumble Bee to enjoy the great outdoors. It’s a small ghost town off Interstate 17, roughly 65 miles north of Phoenix.
Police officers shared that once the SUV broke down during the night, the husband tried to walk to town for help. According to Sacbee, his wife slept in the Wrangler overnight, alone.
The next morning she called her family and tried to find her husband. But his phone was dead and he seemingly vanished. He was reported missing to authorities around 4 PM the next day.
Search teams went out to try and find him during a storm, but didn’t have any luck. Once the weather calmed down the next morning, a helicopter was used to continue the search.
Rescue teams spotted him around 7 AM. He was found cold and wet, with only a T-shirt and pants. Then he was taken to a hospital.
If you plan to tackle the elements, be prepared for emergencies. Take extra water, food, blankets, phone chargers, and tools. Don’t hesitate to call for help. It’s unclear why the wife didn’t make any calls until the next morning.
