Lincoln is American automaker Ford Motors’ luxury division. Lincoln models offer more standard creature comforts than typical Ford models. Is the Corsair luxury SUV the same as the Ford Edge SUV, or did a different model inspire it?

The Lincoln Corsair is not based on the Ford Edge. The Corsair most closely resembles the Ford Escape. The Lincoln Nautilus is more closely related to the Ford Edge.

The Lincoln Corsair is 181 inches long, 74 inches wide, and 64 inches tall. The Ford Escape is 181 inches long, 74 inches wide, and 66 inches tall. The two SUVs are nearly identical in size.

The 2022 Lincoln Corsair starts at $36,370. It comes standard with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 250 horsepower. The small luxury SUV achieves 22 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway.

The 2022 Ford Escape starts at $26,760. It uses a turbocharged 1.5-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine that makes 181 horsepower. The Escape gets 44 miles per gallon in the city and 37 miles per gallon on the highway.

The Corsair is nearly $10,000 more than the Escape. It comes standard with more horses as well as many premium features. The Escape has a better fuel economy, but it can’t touch the Corsair when it comes to cabin materials or technology.

Is the Lincoln Corsair reliable?

Consumer Reports gave the 2022 Lincoln Corsair a 1/5 predicted reliability score. J.D. Power gave the Corsair an 87/100 for reliability, which is very different than CR’s 20/100 score. CarComplaints.com doesn’t have any complaints registered against the 2022 Corsair yet.

The Corsair seems to be less reliable than the average SUV. The luxury SUV costs more to maintain than the average small SUV. If you’re looking for reliability and a low cost of ownership, the Corsair may not be the SUV for you.

The 2022 Lincoln Corsair is packed with standard features

The 2022 Lincoln Corsair comes standard with intelligent access with push-button start, active noise control, and cruise control. It also includes Lincoln Connect, two 12-volt powerpoints, and a post-impact braking system.

The Corsair features a 6.5-inch color cluster display, Lincoln Co-Pilot360, and a particulate air filtration system. The SUV comes standard with heated front seats, heated power-adjustable exterior mirrors, and rear parking sensors.

The Lincon Corsair also includes several safety features like a blind spot information system, a lane-keeping system, and a cross-traffic alert. The luxury SUV may be much more expensive than its Ford relative, but it comes packed with plenty of standard features to justify its price.

The 2022 Lincoln Corsair is more powerful, refined, and technologically advanced than the Ford Escape. It’s listed as the fourth-best small luxury SUV by U.S. News and World Report. The Corsair trails the BMW X3, Mercedes-Benz GLC, and Volvo XC 60.
