With only 30 of these gorgeously tailored offerings being slated for release on American shores, the Holland & Holland Range Rover symbolizes the partnership between the two elite British brands and further highlights what Land Rover calls “exclusivity, performance, and fine bespoke workmanship.”
Artfully crafted by the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) division, the 2016 Holland & Holland Range Rover adds a slathering of one-off updates to the flagship Range Rover SV Autobiography. This is a vehicle that in base trim starts just shy of $200,000, a price that we found well warranted after driving one for a week earlier this year.
“The whole SVO team is very proud of this car, a bespoke design, which perfectly meets the very particular needs of Holland & Holland customers,” says John Edwards, managing director of Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations. “This shows the huge potential of SVO, which encapsulates both off- and on-road performance as well as luxury and craftsmanship.”
Going on sale globally, the Holland & Holland Range Rover will reportedly be available in North America this spring and will start around $244,500. It’s not the kind of upgrade packages we typically see here in America, which generally don’t require an NRA membership or being knighted by the queen.
The first thing you will notice is that the rear loadspace has been rebuilt in order to include a deployable, locking, leather trimmed gun case, which accommodates two firearms from Holland & Holland. This case, which is attached to the floor, slides forward onto the lower tailgate for easier access when needed, and can be removed entirely, if an evening at the opera doesn’t require significant firepower.
Featuring further custom exterior and interior upgrades, exclusive leather upholstery that sports unique trim finishes, and a supercharged V8 that churns-out 550 horsepower and 502 foot-pounds of torque on top of the Autobiography spec, the illustrious vehicle of the world’s wealthiest individuals is without question a cut above.
While regular Autobiography customers are able to opt for a unique dual-tone body color option, choosing to cough up the extra fifty-grand for the Holland & Holland edition scores buyers the shotgun maker’s signature green paint treatment, and a whole lot more. Even though the Autobiography’s controls and brightwork are machined from solid aluminum, and rear-seat passengers still receive a beverage chiller compartment for keeping their caviar and Dom Perignon cool. Remember: In today’s world, there’s no need to look like a peasant when one is out on a wild boar hunting excursion.
