LEAKED: Here’s When You Can Order the 2024 Ford Ranger
We have good news, the new Ford Ranger is almost here. The order books are about to open, so you can get your reservation in. Things are about to get moving because there’s even a set production date. See when you can get the 2024 Ford Ranger.
When can you order the 2024 Ford Ranger?

The 2024 Ford Ranger order books are set to open on April 17, 2023. Then Ranger production is scheduled to start on July 2023. This is subject to delays, so don’t set these dates in stone. Use them as a guide, and stay prepared.
Last year, the Maverick orders and production date was pushed back due to delays. The market still faces the ongoing semiconductor shortage, supply chain constraints, and inflation.
These dates line up as production of the current Ranger is expected to end on March 23. This gives Ford a few weeks to prep the Michigan assembly plant to make the switch. Also, CarScoops shared that the Ranger Raptor spy shots were taken at the plant.
But the photos are of a preproduction example with a shade of Cactus Grey paint. While the popular paint color will remain, the North American model could feature a few changes.
What engines could the 2024 Ranger have?
The official specs for the 2024 Ford Ranger engine options haven’t been released. However, the current 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine with 270 hp and 310 lb-ft of torque will probably be carried over.
But it’s possible that the engine could be reworked to crank out more juice. Rumors suggest that the Ford Ranger Raptor will have a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine.
The 3.0-liter V6 engine cranks out 288 hp and 362 lb-ft of torque in Europe. In other countries like Australia, where the emission standards are lower, the engine provides roughly 391 hp.
We can speculate that the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine with 400 hp and 415 lb-ft of torque from the Ford Explorer could be an option.
Also, other countries have a turbo diesel engine that probably won’t come to America and a seven-speed manual transmission. The North American model will probably use a 10-speed automatic transmission.
Rumors suggest that a Ford Ranger Hybrid is in the works. But the hybrid variant could come out a few months after the initial release.
The 2023 Ranger can tow up to 7,500 lbs and carry a payload of up to 1,905 lbs. It doesn’t need more power, but the Jee Gladiator beats it by being able to tow up to 7,700 lbs.
Will the next-generation Ranger have a better interior?

Yes, the 2024 Ford Ranger interior will be upscale, modern, and advanced. The storage has been improved to feature plenty of bins, trays, and cubbies. There’s even a hidden bin above the glove box.
A 10.1-inch infotainment screen may come standard, but you can upgrade to the 12.1-inch vertically oriented unit. We also expect the new Ranger to feature a new digital gauge cluster and head-up display.
It’s safe to expect standard wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Some trims might feature built-in navigation and a premium audio system. Also, the Ranger will probably feature more safety options.
We will probably learn more about the 2024 Ford Ranger soon. The order books are set to open this spring, so stay tuned for the latest updates.
