The new Chevrolet Colorado is finally here, and you can almost slap your money down to take it home! While the Ford Range and Toyota Tacoma feel a little dated, the 2023 Chevy Colorado is brand new. Check out how much it costs.

How much does the 2023 Chevy Colorado cost?

According to GM Authority, the 2023 Chevy Colorado price starts at $30,695. This price includes the $1,495 destination charge. The base model starts off with the WT model, 2WD, and the turbocharged 2.4-liter inline-four LR2 engine.

The top-spec 2023 Colorado ZR2 Desert Boss model brings the price up to about $57,590. This seems high compared to the 2023 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro, which starts at $46,685, but the Desert Boss could have more power.

Also, these prices were allegedly leaked by sources familiar with General Motors. The official pricing could change. GM Authority also shared that the order banks would open on November 10, but that didn’t happen.

Production of the 2023 Chevrolet Colorado is expected to begin in January, so it could go on sale during the first half of 2023.

How much power does the 2023 Colorado have?

The 2023 Chevy Colorado kicks things off with a standard output 2.7-liter inline-four turbocharged engine that cranks out 237 hp and 257 lb-ft of torque. This is an exciting increase over the outgoing four-cylinder model with 200 hp and 191 lb-ft of torque.

Rumors suggest that the standard engine will be available with the WT and LT. Also, this engine allows the truck to tow up to 3,500 lbs.

The high-output 2.7-liter inline-four turbocharged engine churns out 310 hp and 390 lb-ft of torque. This is an increase of two hp over the outgoing V6 engine and an additional 115 ponies.

With this engine, the 2023 Colorado can tow up to 7,700 lbs, which is an increase of 7,000 lbs. The high-output model could be standard with the Z71 and Trail Boss models.

However, on a sad note, we have to say goodbye to diesel power. However, the off-roading focused ZR2 trim could increase the 2.7-liter output to 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque.

Each powertrain option is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It has cylinder deactivation under light loads that allow the motor to run as a two-cylinder to reduce fuel consumption.

The 2023 Chevy Colorado Trail Boss is an affordable alternative to the Colorado ZR2 with a two-inch lift and a three-inch wider front track. It has Z71 features like a limited-slip differential, beefy all-terrain tires, and hill descent control.

With the ZR2, you also get a three-inch lift kit, multimatic active dampers, power locking differentials in the front and rear, skid plates, and 33-inch all-terrain tires.

The new Chevy Colorado ZR2 Desert Boss is even more capable with bead lock capable wheels, a revised front bumper to improve ground clearance, a roof-mounted light bar, and an under-body camera.

We hope these prices for the Colorado are correct because it’d make the midsize truck extremely affordable. Stay tuned for the latest updates and when the order banks open.
