There were rumors about a new Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison floating around, and now we have more tangible clues to report. Leaked information reportedly revealed that the 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison will be here sooner than expected.

Is the 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison happening?

Reportedly, yes. You can expect the 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison to emerge soon. General Motors accidentally let the Silverado ZR2 Bison slip, and now the cat is out of the bag. Hopefully, it’s the Silverado cat, Walter.

Anyways, the Silverado ZR2 Bison was listed on the General Motors’ ordering system, and it shared a few exclusive details. But it’s unclear if this monster truck will go after the Ram 1500 TRX or the Ram Rebel OTG.

If it goes after the Ram 1500 TRX, then it will be the ultimate Baja racing truck. But it could also be designed as the ultimate overlanding rig. Plus, things could be a little more intense if the new Silverado ZR2 Bison becomes both options.

What to expect with the Silverado ZR2 Bison

Details about the official 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison are being kept under wraps. However, this truck could take cues from the smaller Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison. Also, the Silverado ZR2 Bison is being co-developed with American Expedition Vehicles (AEV).

The Colorado ZR2 Bison is equipped with unique front and rear bumpers to improve its approach, break over, and departure angles. Multiple underbody skip plates protect the undercarriage.

It also has a performance tie rod sleeve kit, suspension leveling kit, and rear differential. It wears a unique grille and has stronger fender flares to set it apart from the regular ZR2 model. Red tow hooks help draw attention too.

The skid plates are made of hot-stamped boron steel, and rock sliders provide even more protection from treacherous obstacles on the trail.

According to Muscle Cars and Trucks, the Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison could gain a snorkel, ride on 35-inch all-terrain tires, have an upgraded axles ratio, and an off-road lighting kit.

How much does the Silverado ZR2 Bison cost?

The official price for the 2023 Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison hasn’t been released. The 2022 Silverado ZR2 starts at $67,600. So, due to the extra protection equipment and the possibility of more power, the ZR2 Bison could cost thousands more.

This seems like a really steep price because the Ram 1500 TRX starts around $77,780 and cranks out 702 hp. That’s a significant power increase.

Currently, there isn’t a single trace of a supercharged Chevrolet engine in development. This could mean that the Bison won’t have the power to match rivals.

However, some fans remain hopeful because the Chevy off-road concept known as the beast has an LT4 V8 engine. It’s going to be used in the new Cadillac Escalade V too.

This engine cranks out 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque. The 2.6-liter engine in the Corvette ZR1 could help large beastly trucks and SUVs reach 700 hp.

We should learn more about the Chevy Silverado ZR2 Bison soon, especially if it’s arriving for the 2023 model year. We will keep you updated and hope the Bison is ready to trample rivals.
