Lando Norris and McLaren recently announced a contract extension through 2030. While the contract value has not been revealed, reports suggest that Norris will be paid $69.6 million per season (60 million euros), starting next year. The British driver won the 2025 Drivers’ Championship and helped McLaren win the Constructors’ Championship for the second year in a row.
Motorbiscuit recently reported the contract extension announcement. Norris has raced full-time for McLaren since 2019. His previous contract was reportedly set to last until the end of the 2027 season. The new deal is to last until the end of 2030, and could be extended further if Norris and McLaren reach an agreement.
If accurate, the reported $69.9 million annual salary would make Norris one of the highest-paid drivers on the grid. McLaren will also be handing Norris the 2025 MCL39 F1 car that he raced last season when he won his first championship, beating Max Verstappen by just two points.
“McLaren is my home, and I’m very pleased to be signing a new contract to keep me with the team until at least 2030,” said Norris after the announcement. “When I started this journey nine years ago, I was clear about the goals I wanted to achieve: to get McLaren back to the front and to win Championships.
“We’ve achieved that goal, but we want more, we want to keep on winning, and we know as a team that we’re capable of achieving it. I can’t wait to get back in the car in Monza and I’m very excited about what the future holds for us, both over the rest of this season, and in the coming years.”
McLaren team principal Andrea Stella added:
