Lamborghini doesn’t just produce luxury cars anymore. It makes a luxury SUV as well. The Lamborghini Urus is arguably the most exciting innovation from the automaker in decades.

The Urus has a supercar’s heart and an SUV’s body. It’s quick, attractive, and, best of all, it’s practical. Many performance vehicles are uncomfortable and have snug cabins. The Lamborghini Urus subverts everything we have ever known about prior Lamborghini models.

The creation of Lamborghini’s exciting new nameplate was a gamble, but the Urus has been a massive success ever since it hit the scene. It has become a status symbol in its own right, like many other Lambos before it. The big difference is, now the whole family can come along for the ride.

According to Motor1, the Lamborghini Urus was the automaker’s best-selling vehicle for 2022. Sales increased by 10% year over year. Urus sales increased by seven percent year over year. The brand delivered 5,367 Urus models in 2022. That may seem like a measly figure for an SUV, but it’s impressive considering the vehicle’s high price tag. The company sold over six times as many Urus models as Aventador models. It sold 2,000+ more SUVs than Huracans.

How much is a Lamborghini Urus?

The Lamborghini Urus comes in three different trim levels: the Base, Pearl Capsule, and Graphite Capsule. The Lamborghini Urus Base starts at $225,500. The Urus Pearl Capsule starts at $246,700. Lamborghini’s Graphite Capsule model starts at $249,400.

The Lamborghini Urus is significantly more expensive than other performance SUVs like the Maserati Levante and Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat. That being said, no one expected a Lamborghini SUV to fit the budget of the average driver.

The Urus has become the vehicle of choice for celebrities like the Kardashians and pro athletes like Cristiano Ronaldo. It’s a cultural icon, and the Urus Performante is arguably even more exciting.

How quick is the Lamborghini Urus Performante?

MotorTrend claims that the 2023 Lamborghini Urus Performante gallops from 0-60 miles per hour in 3.3 seconds. The Urus Performante uses a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine to make 657 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque.

According to Road Show by CNET, the Lamborghini Urus Performante is more agile than its predecessor thanks to a lower weight. Its throttle is more sensitive than the Urus’ and its transmission shifts more quickly. In other words, this is a Lamborghini SUV specifically designed for the track.

Lamborghini’s SUV model has garnered so much attention over the years that it has inspired competitors. Ferrari is producing an SUV that’s clearly made to battle the Urus. Which performance SUV will emerge victorious?
