Where is the Kia Telluride made?

The Kia Telluride is assembled in West Point, Georgia, at the Kia West Point Assembly Plant. It’s the only Kia manufacturing plant in the U.S. The Kia West Point Assembly Plant runs 24 hours a day and produces 340,000 vehicles a year.

The Telluride first hit the scene in 2019 as a 2020 model year. Three years and four model years later, the nameplate has become one of the most sought-after midsize SUVs in the industry. Its high resale prices and value retention speak to how popular Tellurides have become in such a short amount of time.

The South Korean midsize SUV has made a huge impact on its vehicle segment with no signs of slowing down any time soon. Kia will produce its most expensive Telluride model yet for 2023.

Is the Telluride worth buying?

The 2023 Kia Telluride starts at $35,690. It uses a 3.8-liter V6 engine to make 291 horsepower and 262 lb-ft of torque. The Telluride gets 20 miles per gallon in the city and 26 miles per gallon on the highway. The all-wheel drive Telluride achieves 19 miles per gallon in the city and 24 miles per gallon on the highway.

New Telluride models come standard with a WiFi hotspot and navigation. The midsize SUV also comes standard with a massive 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Kia Tellurides now feature standard blind-spot monitoring, forward collision warning and automated emergency braking, lane-departure warning, and lane-keeping assist.

The Kia Telluride may not be as affordable as previous model years, but its long list of great standard features justifies its high starting price. That being said, the Telluride’s fuel economy is something to consider, especially with all-wheel drive.

The 2023 Kia Telluride is worth buying because of its value proposition, but if you plan on regularly driving long distances, then there are better options on the market. If you want a midsize SUV that has incredible driving range, the Highlander Hybrid is an option worth exploring. The Highlander Hybrid is known to be long-lasting.

What problems does the Telluride have?

CarComplaints.com claims that one of the most prominent Telluride problems is poor headlight illumination in the 2020 model year. The Kia Telluride hasn’t had many major mechanical problems yet. The 2022 Kia Telluride was recalled four times. Issues included problems with tires, the vehicle’s electrical system, and trailer hitches. Most major automotive publications give the Telluride high reliability scores.

The Kia Telluride and Hyundai Palisade are the top dogs in its vehicle segment. It’s hard to imagine any midsize SUV dethroning either South Korean model. Kia’s midsize SUV isn’t perfect, but it has won the hearts of many in the few years that it has been in production.
