It’s time to welcome a new large electric SUV to the Kia lineup. The Kia EV9 is set to make its world debut in the first quarter of 2023. The concept vehicle was first revealed at the 2021 Los Angeles Auto Show. Kia is confident that this SUV will revolutionize the electric SUV segment.

Here’s what we know so far

The Kia EV9 certainly stands out from other all-electric SUVs, and it’s easy to see why. For starters, it features three rows of seating, making it the perfect vehicle that the whole family can enjoy. There is also a solar panel built into the hood. It also comes equipped with a blended pop-up steering wheel and a 27-inch display. In addition, many of the materials found inside are made from recycled plastics. Plus, this model has been developed on the company’s advanced Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP).

Kia EV9 performance and range

Kia claims there will be a 300-mile driving range with the EV9. The automaker also claims this electric SUV will also be able to charge on 350-kilowatt fast charging stations.

According to Kia, “During this final testing phase, the EV9 is relentlessly subjected to a grueling verification program. Testing on a 4WD climbing hill and rough terrain tracks, as well as deep-water wading, will ensure maximum reliability even in the most challenging conditions. Kia’s high-speed, handling, and low-friction tracks place every element of the EV9’s performance and roadholding under the strictest scrutiny. At the same time, ‘Belgian pavé’ cobbled road surfaces enable Kia’s engineers to subject the EV9’s ride comfort and build quality to the harshest possible trials.” So, if you’re looking for a very capable electric SUV, the Kia EV9 may need to be at the top of your car shopping list. This vehicle has been subjected to a testing in locations around the world, so you know performance is a key factor.

Although we don’t know every detail about this vehicle, it’s safe to say, it’s going to be a ground-breaking model to hit the market. And yes, it’s a good investment for your travels. So far, we know it’s incredibly spacious and takes performance very seriously. The driving range seems to be excellent from what we know so far. The interior is well-appointed and comes with that 27-inch display across the dash. The solar panel on the hood will certainly provide more sun-powered range. We still aren’t sure exactly how much it will cost, but expect it to align or be slightly on the low end price-wise among competitors.
