Keanu Reeves’ Motorcycle Company Arch Makes a Real Version of a ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Bike

While there are several celebrities who are into bikes, such as Ewan McGregor, very few have started their own motorcycle company. But that’s exactly what Keanu Reeves and buddy Gard Hollinger did with Arch Motorcycle. And the company has done more than just make its customers’ high-end motorcycles come to life. It’s also helped create some of the bikes used in the upcoming video game Cyberpunk 2077.

The Arch Motorcycle real-world 2020 lineup

Arch Motorcycle’s flagship model is arguably the KRGT-1. It’s been in production since 2015 when it started out as a custom Harley-Davidson, BikeEXIF reports. But it’s been constantly revised, updated, and refined since. In total, the 2020 model has over 150 changes compared to the early version, Road & Track reports.

Like a Harley, the Arch KRGT-1 is a V-twin-powered bike. Specifically, a 2032cc V-twin that makes 122 hp and 122 lb-ft at the rear wheel, Cycle World reports. With a 538-lb dry weight, the KRGT-1 is fairly light given its large engine. And that’s mostly due to a design that incorporates a lot of billet aluminum, such as in the swingarm, subframes, and the fuel tank. That tank, incidentally, is a stressed member of the frame.

Carbon fiber also appears on the Arch KRGT-1; that’s what the BST wheels and Yoshimura muffler are made out of. Arch Motorcycle also gives the bike fully-adjustable Ohlins suspension, ISR disc brakes with ABS, custom LED lighting, and a Motogadget digital dash.

However, while the KRGT-1 is an excellent and comfortable performance cruiser, it’s not the only bike in Arch Motorcycle’s lineup. In 2018 it launched the 1s, an aluminum-framed sportbike/cruiser hybrid with a single-sided swingarm, Cycle World reports. It has the KRGT-1’s engine but sports a carbon-fiber fuel tank, a new exhaust, and more steeply-raked forks. Plus, the 1S’ riding position is more aggressive, due to the lower handlebars and higher mid-mounted foot controls.

Then there’s the Arch Method 143. Like the other two bikes, the Method 143 has carbon-fiber wheels and a V-twin engine. Only it also has a carbon-fiber chassis with an integrated fuel cell, a carbon-fiber-covered single-sided swingarm, and a titanium-and-carbon-fiber exhaust. Plus, instead of a 2032cc V-twin, it has a 2343cc V-twin rated at 170 hp, RideApart reports. And Arch worked directly with Ohlins to develop suspension specifically for the Method 143.

Arch Motorcycle helped Cyberpunk 2077’s bikes come to life

The Method 143 also has another function, though: inspiration for one of Cyberpunk 2077’s bikes.

Keanu Reeves voices and is the IRL model for one of Cyberpunk 2077’s main NPCs, the outlaw Johnny Silverhand. And the game’s developers, CD Projekt Red, approached him and Hollinger to help with the motorcycles that appear in the game. As the video above explains, the Method 143 served as the basis for the in-game bikes. CD Projekt Red also recorded audio from real-world Arch Motorcycle bikes to use in Cyberpunk 2077, RideApart reports.

The motorcycle in Cyberpunk 2077 isn’t identical to the Method 143. Besides the paint job, it also has a different exhaust and a different engine. But as Hollinger himself describes, “it’s definitely 143-ish.”

Sadly, Arch Motorcycle isn’t making an exact replica of the Cyberpunk 2077 bike. However, the company’s motorcycles are customizable, so a customer could likely request a similar-looking design.

However, if you want a Method 143, you’ll have to act fast. Arch is only making 23 examples, at a price of ‘if you have to ask.’ The KRGT-1 is less expensive, but not by much; it starts at $85k, R&T reports. Used models exist, but they’re not exactly cheap. A local Chicagoland dealership briefly had one in stock and listed it in the mid-$70k range.
