New Jersey woman is suing JetBlue after sustaining injuries from “dangerously cold” ice cream
People who use commercial airlines to travel can have a ton of gripes. Sometimes, there are delays or unruly people flying with you. However, we can’t forget the complaints that may be more unconventional but still cause real-life issues for the impacted party. This is what happened recently after a plane passenger flying on JetBlue sustained injuries from ice cream.
This plane passenger suffered severely
One of the perks of being a plane passenger on most airlines is that they give you snacks. However, according to The Independent, Karla Quinonez was treated to an ice cream sandwich during a recent airplane ride going from JFK airport to Paris. Sadly, this was no normal ice cream sandwich. Instead, Karla says this one was “dangerously cold,” and now she’s suing.
According to the lawsuit, the plane passenger is accusing JetBlue of “serving food at a temperature below what is reasonable or safe for consumption.” She also says the airline is guilty of “failing to warn [her] of the dangerously cold temperature and solid state of the ice cream sandwich she was served.”
People reading may think this is just silly. After all, ice cream is supposed to be served cold. However, Karla sustained injuries from the ice cream. The JetBlue plane passenger says she cracked her upper left lateral incisor and faced excruciating pain. Because of this, she needed an emergency tooth extraction and then an implant. The lawsuit says this happened as a result of JetBlue’s “negligent acts.” Of course, she also had the added cost of continued care related to the injury.
As part of the lawsuit, the plane passenger wants a monetary judgment to be decided by a jury of her peers. Of course, this is one of many lawsuits launched at JetBlue this year from injured passengers who chose to travel with the airline.
